Apologies for delays on emails, playing catchup after xmas/ny. Are you referring to the Nichia PC red?

hello guyz!
have questions about sol strip :

solstrip 3 Channels ( 2 white + 1 cree xqe660/xd16)
Channels 1 and 2 are designed for 48V operation and Channel 3(Colours or Whites) 20-28V (36V for Phosphor or Phosphor converted led) so meets SELV safety standards

- 108 led /strip ( 96 white + 12 creexpe660/xd16)
white led : nichia 757v3 2000k/5000k 97cri : middpowerled max: 1w@1 amps
cree xqe deepred 660nm : max 3w@1 amps
cree xd 16 s3 3500k max 6w@2amps so 3w@1amps

- strip can goes to 1.05Amps
designed for 48V

i have 2 kind of solstrip:
1st) 2x channel nichia 5000k 97cri + cree xqe 660nm
2nd) 2x channel nichia 2000k + cree xd16 3500k

my calculation:
96 white led x 0,6 w = 57,6 w
12 color led x 1w = 12
total minimum watt for solskin: 69,6 w

and max watt:
96 white led x 1 w = 96 w
12 color led x 3w = 36w
total maximum watt for solskin :132w

questions:

Are my calculation are good? solstrip minimum wattage are @70w and max 132w?
i wanna know the perfect wattage with the solstrip at 18" height to get between 800 and 1000ppfd
what is the good wattage to get the most penetration/watt efficient?

i have a 1000w maximum restriction for my flower area and 400 for the veg, and i have 17 solstrip nichia2000k/cree xd163500k & 13 solstrip nichia 5000k97cri/creexqe 660 nm.

thank you guys for helping me!

Ive been wanting to post about these phosphor coated red chips that cutter has opted for their 5050 strips:
https://www.cutter.com.au/product/sol-strip-5050-br/

I had a few made custom and Mark @welight stocked a few: its their BR solstrips 5050 design with 3 channels: one with cree j-series 5050 with 3500k, 48 diodes 4-5 w each. But im likely not driving them harder than 1.5w.

Next one with 5050 phosphor coated 660nm red. 48 diodes. Similar to 660 red but the output is much wider all the way into far red, and good levels at 680-700nm aswell. Ive been wanting to play with this kinda spectrum for ages and i jumped at the opportunity. Dont know too much about these chips. Supposed to be 2.89 ppf/w at .65W but id prefer if Mark @welight could jump in on the info on these, most importantly max drive current, cause apparently he got them custom made.

The third channel is wide blue: 4 x 400nm, 4x 450 nm and 4x 470 nm.

So it gives you something similar to a Chilled board but in a strip form with very high theoretical wattage and efficiency if you run it softer, at only 80ish AU$, or about 52€ or 59 Us$. To anyone who ever wanted to do red, blue or UV supplementation this feels like a no-brainer to me. Especially since Mark tends to give free shipping on +500AU$ orders.

I got 6 of them on order and im going to pair this with some infra red strips i also got from cutter and maybe some more white light and see how we do. pcred5050-600x600.jpg

Mark made me some spectrum tests with different power levels. Im a little unsure how he did these: the channels are white:24v,red:48v,blue: around 28v. I asked Mark for the following power levels w/r/b:
1-1-0
2-1-0
1-2-0
1-2-0.5
1-1-0.25
Im not sure if he matched those levels as per drive current or total levels in watts, @welight will be able to confirm.

In any case they make for some spectacular spectrum porn:

Sup everyone.
I am looking for some advise on matching driver's every time I think I've cracked it I lose it.
I want to do a sol buil but I'm on a budget I'm running out of time oh and this is my first build lol.

Alright so I was looking to do a ssk single channel would have loved a second channel but I think the driver will put me over budget ? As I'm assuming apx 120w per channel so I was looking at a HLG 120H 24B please let me no if I'm wrong.
And Strips I was going to go with Eb strips but I really want sol strips so trying to save some coin by getting the right and available driver's. Fingers crossed.
So can anyone recommend a driver for 6 sol strips just the j series elk 80cri I would like to run the strips at the give or take and everything will be mounted on Emmy Ali.

Also just curious how many strips would this run in parallel HLG 120H 42A I'm not sure if it's 4 or 40.
Either way can't wait to get this build underway with the help of you knowledgeable guy's.

Thanks

If you email Cutter they will be able to work out the driver configuration for you depending on the strips you intend to buy, Cutter have alot of designated horticulture products with various forward voltages so it's best to let them sort it for you. You can also save some coin by using ELG drivers instead of HLG

Yeah absolutely I was going to e-mail them just thought I'd try here first as they are probably quite busy and didn't want to bother them if I didn't have to. And figured some people may have just a couple options that I could start looking around for.

how are you gonna power and control the channels?

More than likely cv drivers for the white and red channel. White is 24v, red is 48v. The blue channel should be around 30ish V. Will probably do all the blue and ir on separate 700mA Cc drivers.
Probably wont work with a controller right away. Dont really see the point yet as this is just exploratory.
As for the future the Koada controller here on riu or ameleches zigbee system seems attractive.
If i remember right, you also tried out tweaking the spectrum (bridgelux 1750k meatchips, right)? How did you do? Did you find any take aways?

Hay all
Can someone please confirm my driver selection so I can place my orders.
Firstly 2 x sol skin single channel boards with Cree J series 27k. I'm planning on using HLG-150H-48B.
Secondly 8 x sol strips single channel Cree J series 30k planning on using ELG-240-C700B
I've got everything sitting in the cart ready to go and I'm pretty sure I've got it right but as it's my first build I would really appericate it if someone with more knowledge could just give me a yes or no. I've tried messaging and emailing Mark from cutter but he must be pretty busy atm.
Thanks in advance will upload pics when I get it all put togeather. Hopefully

Should have tried all 1750k cobs sethimus, would have liked some feedback in flower other than I......found it rather surprising with my small dab at it== But idk in the end, Too many variables in my shitty closet

Putting the obligated efficiency is still king note : )

Hi Mark

Yeah man you replayed to me a week or so ago but it's not a problem just trying all avenues. Placed the order today figured that way id have my light's now figure the best way to drive them.

And fingers crossed I think I just managed to avoid import tax.
