I have never had a good relationship with my mother really. She was a really great mom don't get me wrong, we just never clicked. And I told her I smoked weed the other day, on a regular basis. She was completely fine with it. She even asked me if I could help her get a MMJ license for her Guacoma. We had a long talk. Now I want to get my mom a vape for Christmas lol. But I feel akward about smoking with my mom. What do you guys think?

same, smoked with my dad and it was real wierd and I got all parinoid as hell (not to close him and I) but its all about getting used to your situation. Now I'd love and even want my mother to start smoking as she has been diagnosed with stage 4 lynphnode cancer thats gone lukimic (sp?) hate seeing what the "legal" medacine is doing to her, it's leiteraly burnt alot of her nerve endings because of how poisiones it is, just feel so mad over this political BS!!! I know she would benifit from smoking but she is very play by the rules kinda person.

Let's see....I've smoked with mom, dad, step mom, grandma (she loves the volcano...hell they all do), uncle and my best friend, her mother, and her grandmother. The last 3 were all at the same time. Pretty cool. Its not weird unless you make it weird. She's reaching out for more then an mmj license. So step up help her out and be cool brother. I hope weed brings you two closer together man. It should. If it doesn't then you did somethin wrong.

Ah, man that sucks, been through the same mindset problem with my mom. She made a total recovery, but I think she wished she died a few times during treatment, as she got so ill from it.
Good luck over there.

I've offered it to mine, but they are at the age where they can't inhale smoke or vapor because of asthma, so edibles are really the only thing.

I always knew my dad smoked but I personally did not smoke at all up until about 9 years ago. Long story but I grew up in a country were bud was basically looked upon as the devil itself. Anyways, I started smoking and immediately fell in love with the dank nugs :)
I knew my dad and his wife weren't able to get any good stuff and were paying outrageous prices for schwag (There is like an old person tax on nugs around here and it's really sad.)
So I told my dad that I can get him good nugs whenever he wants. I started getting him about a oz every week.
But it wasn't until two years later that we actually smoked together for the first time. A girlfriend of the time had just left me and I had rolled up a half oz in two blunts and went to sit out back. My dad came home and came outside to see what was going on. I told him about my mishaps and he sat down, told me to pass that mega "cigar" as he called it and we had a long talk about life. Since then we smoke every time we get together. Which is usually a couple of times a week. I grow for my parents now, not really to save money just quality control sort of speak. There are not a lot of clones available to us where we live except for the occasional drive up to Colorado to see my friend Jesse, so two months ago me and dad flew to Amsterdam and spent 3 days covering every coffee shop within 2hr of AMS and sampling any strain we might be interested in and bringing the genetics back to the u.s. TBH, this was my fifth trip to amsterdam I think and this time around was the SHITTIEST quality buds out of all my visits. We spent over 4000 euros in 3 days and honestly it was a bit of a waste. We only left with 2 new strains to the collection as 99% of what we smoked wasn't that good. Big props to the Grey Area and the L.A Con they had at the time. We went back there everyday and stocked up so that whenever we tried something new and didn't like it we would immediately light up a L.A Con joint right after :) We only slept one out of the three nights because we had to eat some mushrooms while in AMS. Now that was a fun experience with my dad... The trip might have been a bit of a failure (goal wise) but we came back with 2 new strains, about 30 flavors of hash and a lot of good memories!
Ever since I started smoking with my dad it has brought us a lot closer to each other and it has helped me understand more about him.

That was a rant, I'm sorry. I just smoked and never told the story before so guess I got into it :)

If anyone read all that then much respect lol :)

Wish my dad smoke... we're not close at all. I only talk to him once a month or so.

Yeah my dad moved to the U.S when I was 1, so I spent my whole childhood without him and it wasn't until I turned 18 that I decided to move to the U.S and spend some time with him. I've been here about 7 years now and got a house 10min down the road from him.
Sorry to hear your not that close to your dad, I never was until like I said about 7 years ago. And even after that I would say it took a good 3-4 years to open up and really get to know each other.

Now that I think of it I remember this one time, me and a friend had just picked up some purple nugs and was hitting his 4foot PHX bong.
My parents were in the movie room watching the projector screen. My friend kept asking if we should pack it up and let my parents hit it.
(This was before I smoked with my parents, at that time I only hooked them up with stuff, never smoked together.)
After some deliberating back and forth we decided this was going to be the case.
So we put new water in the bong, ice and all that, packed it full of some fire purp and went upstairs to hand it to them.
When we got upstairs there was no one in the movie room, I assume they were both in the bedroom for the time being, so we proceeded to put the bong on the table and a lighter on top of it and then go sit in my room and wait for the what we thought would be the loudest coughing we have ever heard...
That was not the case, instead my dad came into my room about 10minutes later with the bong in hand and said "I think you left this in the movie room"
It had been cashed out so he smoked it all but we hadn't heard any coughing. He put the bong down and looked at it and said "That is one hell of a piece, I think I have something put away for a special occasion such as this.." He took off only to re-appear again 5 minutes later with a baggie in his hand.
This is some Northern Lights #5 I had laying around for the last 10+ years just waiting for a special occasion and I think this is it.
That night me and my friend got a reality check, we weren't the hardcore smokers we thought, didn't matter how much good we smoked each day, this old man could smoke us under the table any day, and he did just that.

I've read about this, never seen any people talk about it tho.
It really upset me, I suffer from many conditions unfortunately and cannabis does help.
If you can't trademark (I think that's what he said) a plant and that's why the pharm companies stay away from them, then why don't they stay away from opium plants? I am prescribed to what I feel is half the pharmacy everytime I go. 4-5 different extremely strong opiate narcotics that come from the opium plants. And honestly that is where a lot of money is for them. Even WITH insurance, some of these medications cost over $500 for a month supply.
I know I need some of my medications but about 3/4ths of them could be removed and replaced with cannabis from a relief point of view at any time.

Hey Shayden - I know this thread is a little old. Have you smoked with her yet? I totally agree with pilgram! Glaucoma is REALLY *@^#! SCARY. I have some personal experience with this diagnosis. I hope your mom is getting regular screenings for her glaucoma. Because the brain is so powerful it compensates for the loss of vision so you can be 70-80% blind before you start to notice it "visually." If you can help her out with a truly miracle medicinal for this scary and progressive condition then do it, and feel like the good son you are for sharing--don't feel weird about it. Plus, if she gardens now you have 2 things to connect on :)

shit I really wish I could smoke with my parents...but my mom thinks weed is the devil (I do plan on trying to convince her otherwise...) and my dad would never risk his job by smoking. maybe one day :)
