Hey im new to yhis and was jus wondering, in a 4x4x7 tent with 600watt hps would i be better growing 1 decent plant or a bunch of smaller 1s. Wanting to grow grand daddy purp and not sure which will give me the higher yeild.

I would go with several plants, you will get more bud and u Will have more plants to fall back on in case one gets sick or turns out to be male. good luck.

Ok so what would be a comfortable amount for that size grow space? Grow 3 or 4 medium sized ones or sog with lots of small ones?

I've got a 2x4x5 tent.
I run about 3 to 5 strains at a time, and keep the veg cycle semi short (3 to 4 weeks) so they don't outgrow my tent during the flowering spurt. Typically 2 to 3 months worth of grow and flowering I'll harvest, and start the next group.

Sog with a bunch of small plants sounds the best. I grew 1 big church once & should have gone smaller for sure. Just my 2 cents

Interesting. What light are you using and what sort of yeild per plant on average?

400 watt Hps throughout the grow. Different strains equal different yields like Red Dwarf was a 1 ounce per plant give or take. No Autos right now though

(untrained)Plants take up a circular footprint. So 6 or 8 plants in a 4x4 square would be kind of silly... just wasted inefficient use of space.

You can fit 1 circle in a square nicely. Or 4, or 9, or 16 etc. Not 6 or 8.

4 plants in 7 gallons or 9 plants in 3 gallons, that's what I'd do.
