You can successfully root cuttings even after 4 weeks of 12/12 it will take much longer but it works.

Good questions Interested in the answers. I figured that it would be better to just leave the leaves, unless they show signs of distress. I also want to ask how tall of a cutting should I take for a clone + leaf count. the more leaves the better?

When you take cuttings you only want to leave the top couple of leaves so it will force the cutting take root faster.

UPDATE - HARVEST IS IN
Apologies for the delay in replying to posts, been a bit hectic here. Well. I cut her at day 63 and I'm happy with the results. Some pics of main buds after trimming, took all the lower buds the following day. I'll give you a weight when they're fully dry, I dont bother with wet weights thesedays but its dry weight x 4
To answer some questions:
Professor Manali: As I said in the thread I wan't happy with the overall condition of the plant, she lost condition midway through flowering, and I did explain that I felt that the experimental lining of spaghnum moss may have caused PH issues in that soil mix. Thats why I cut so many of those fans in late flowering, not a thing I would normally do! Yes, you can take cuttings anytime during flowering but I'd say 2 weeks is optimum for fast rooting. This plant is indeed a cutting from a cutting.
Take your cuts from anywhere on the plant but I find the small lower shoots are less advanced into flowering and root faster. You only need small 3 or 4" cuts. Yes you can root any tops you remove too, many growers do this.
jjmd: Don't remove any fan leaves until they are ready to drop off! I would not remove healthy fans.
When you look for a potential cutting you want to be able to make an angled cut through a lower side shoot, remove lower shoots and just leave the top leaves as GFK said above. (Hope this makes sense?).

I have been busy building my simple DWC tank for the follow up grow, I need a break from soil and want to get back to simple hydro again. I have decided on the dwc but with bubbles. At least initially, seems to give the first few weeks that extra boost of growth so it seems well worth it to me. DOing a diy job ala Rosemans bubbleponic tutorial (if you havent read it I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone with even a vague interest in dwc.
You have been an inspiration my friend, your patience and diligence have been a blessing, and your attention to detail is admirable.
Looking forward to seeing what you get up to next. I will let you know how I get on.

I'm about ready to begin the new DWC thread, I'll post the link here later today hopefully. I have a new bigger cabinet almost ready to run (see pics below), and I'm just off out to grab a larger plastic tank and some perlite. I have 4 seeds all cracked and ready to go in. After hours spent browsing the seeds on offer for something different I went for seedsman's MAZARI (mazari sharif x skunk #1), an F1 hybrid. Looks a nice heavy indica. Seeds are feminsed. I'm looking forward to doing another seedplant run for a change.

I know what you mean about the boost of bubbleponics in early stage, no doubt it works! But with small pots and a high initial water level you can get the benefits of 'splashing' at least as a means of getting that oxygen rich water to the roots No doubt that drippers are an improvement though. 'Roseman' knows his stuff I agree when it comes to bubbleponics.Back soon with the new thread subject to my eldest daughter giving birth any day now to what will be our first grandaugher
