Hi, newbie here to Rollitup but long time grower. As the title suggests I grow a vigorous pheno of original NL by Nirvana. She just jumped out at me a couple of years ago, explodes in veg and early flowering so I stuck with her :-) I don't keep a mother but I take just 2 cuttings each time to keep me rolling over.

Some pics of current lady below, its day 16 of 12/12 after only a 2 week veg period after rooting, any longer and I can't contain them in my cabinet! Topped once and LST'd to give the canopy some shape.

Feeding BioBizz grow and bloom nutes, plus I give just one shot of PK13/14 (canna) 3 weeks before finishing. Shes a 9 week finisher on average. I water tap water stood for 24 hours to de- chlorinate, and PH'd down to 6.4.

What else? ....... 350watts of CFL's mainly 2700's but including 80 watts of 6500 'blue' all spirals.

**********************************
OK, so day 16 of 12/12 as I said. You can also see the 2 cuttings I took a few days ago, they will be the follow up grow.

Hope you enjoy my grow, any other dedicated NL growers please post here, be intersted to hear from you :-)

Cheers,

ms.

NL needs a lot more light than that IMO, but good luck.
They do just fine mate, trust me! Been doing this along time, I'm in my fifties now and started back in eighties.....and I'm posting in the CFL section so I hoped I'd be amongst kindred spirits here :-)

Like I said, I get everything I want/need from my ladies and thats my bottom line. Why not stick around and watch her flower ....I'll show you what CFL's really CAN do!

Anyway, good to meet you Mcgician :-)

Heres some of what her mother plant produced last grow and a shot in late flowering of the last 2 NL's.... CFL's CAN do the job if you use them correctly.

just finished my 1st cfl grow with a northern lights(#5) - she grew quite nice under 78w of cfl's(micro grow)
so 350w is just huge to me! subscribed for this grow

would love to see it and see how you keep temps down. i'm having a hard time with high temps w/260W the 42W bulbs put out alot of heat...for a CFL that is.

very nice plants sir

This guy knows his shit man. I've been growing with CFL lighting for the past year.
I use to use MH AND HPS Bulbs for my lighting setup. But.. wow when I got my first electric bill.. shiiat. I had to turn it down a few notches and decided to use CFL lights.

Yea, if you know how to use CFL lights
for growing.. then go for it. I'll have to dig into my Hard-drive on my Dell Desktop running Windows XP and find my best grow using CFL lighting. :)

I use my Mac all the time now..
Don't have to worry about viruses.
and its alot more stable than Microsoft
could ever be. Peace.. ;):bigjoint:

350w is definitely enough light.

Nice grow man, I was thinking of doing something like that 2 clone thing aswell to keep the grow constant (im gonna take 4, put 2 into flowering with the mum and keep 2 in veg). Gl on ur grow, ill be watching

i love the look of the plant. i hope after LST"ing i can get something like that. could you show what your actual light set up looks like. if you go under my grow you can see what i am using. right now i have about 200 actual watts for 1 plant but will be up to 250-300 havent quite decided. im trying to decide on organic nutrients still. i am just growing bag seed and have gone through some fun trials.

I love how bushy your HL plant is. 1 thing i will never understand is all the HID guys coming in here talking about how much better your plant would be etc. if using a HPS or MH bulb. i love the CFL's get the exact light spectrum i want, and how much of it i want. not wasted colour spectrum here :)

happy growing

Here's a pic of my NLxShiva. About 4 1/2 weeks veg. gonna veg for another week then let 'er bloom.

WOW that plant is HUGE after 4 and a half weeks. i am just over 3 weeks and i am no where close to that. although iam growing an indica and had alot of stress.thats AWESOME! Teach me!! lol

Damn MS I must say that is a damn nice grow! +rep for sure! So hopefully you dont mind that I ask a few questions?? 1) Approx how much was your yield considering it was a 9 week process? 2) Since you veg'ed a short time did you give veg nutes or did you jump into flower nutes? 3) Approx when did you LST?and last but not least 4) what was ur schedule for the 9 week process? Again that was a nice grow I plan on followin the same process.

Thanks for all of the positive comments there, appreciate it :-) I'll try to answer all the questions and post some more pics.

Firstly SirSmokesAlot :-)
1. I harvest around day 77 from germination or 11 weeks total, that includes a short 2 week veg and on average yield is around 1oz and a Q fully dry. Now I know I could do better ( longer veg/bigger pots/HPS etc etc....) BUT its more than enough to keep me smiling :-) Generally I pull just around 2.5 oz dry every 9 weeks, I have a small cabinet plus a smaller veg cabinet!

2. I dont really feed at all first 2 weeks then I feed Bio 'grow' for a couple of weeks then switch to the 'bloom' after first 2 weeks stretch period. 3 weeks from finish they get a single shot of Canna PK 13/14 booster.

3. I start LST soon as possible! Pull the main top down and then I remove that top and as side branching develops I pull them all 'out and down' if that makes sense?

4. Not sure about the '9 week process', its an 11 week process here. Bottom line is I have to contain them within my small (metre square) cabinet so I can't veg too long.

********************************

OK, pics were requested of the cab/CFL's so here you go plus a latest pic of the NL lady...shes at day 18 of 12/12 today and starting to explode with those pre flowers now :-) You can also see a little Hindu Kush I have in flower at 4 weeks 12/12.

Anything I have overlooked I'll answer later.

Cheers.

ms.
