Some people just like flaming . . . its like anywhere you will find a mix of helpful people and ass holes. If I feel someone's question is dumb I'll try to get them to elaborate more or just ignore them. I see little point in wasting my time insulting people for asking questions.

i know exactly what you mean theres gotta be an asshole everytime..Almost every time i go onto a thread or post a thread to give or get advice some asshole has to come on there and talk shit about how stupid yours or my question is, or if you just need to confirm that your doing something correctly, & etc.

I think a lot of us have put a lot of work into researching this shit and searched through piles of crap and repeat threads to find the best thread and best information. Thats what pisses me off, doing a search and getting pages of bullshit repeat threads that you have to look through.
I think a lot of times after you've spent months doing that and someone comes along and justs asks the questions instead of putting the work in it kind of pisses you off. I'm not saying thats how you should be or that its a good attitude but its just a natural reaction for some types of people. I think everyone right in that we are all here to help or to learn; some of us forget that in the quest

The trouble is with people these days is they have no time to search for shit, ''i have a problem so ive started a thread fix it now'' i find it funny when people are sitting infront of a pc but cant use ''GOOGLE'' to search for what they want, prime example is pics of MALE/FEMALE plants, its also in not what you ask, but how you ask, and ive read way to many peoples threads and posts who forget one main thing, THEY ARE WEEDS, the only fecking thing that kills them is going overboard with them, plants dont kill themselves, people kill them and the reason they kill them is they want all the fecking weed right FECKING NOW.

I have to disagree with you slightly. To answer questions is part of why we're here, not the whole. It's quite simply that many of us are far more interested in deeper knowledge than 'my leaf tips are yellowing' or 'I can't afford a HPS, will a flash light suspended from the ceiling work?'
A forum is exactly that, a 'forum for discussion' I do not recall reading anywhere on the site that RIU is noob central for questions answered 500 times already. If they'd just use the search function they'd find it much faster than waiting for somone who's already answered the same question.
You're right it's not google, it's RIU, but google anything about marijuana growing and you'll find RIU usually holds at least 6 spots on the first search page.
I think this thread is the essence of what a forum should be, idea's and concepts discussed freely. I think that that, 'How much bud can I get if I grow under my bed with a CFL? I can't have my mom find it.' Is just a bit tedious and tiresome. The tiniest bit of research here or elsewhere would reveal a plant that, in nature, grows to be an average of 8 feet tall and up to 15 would alone answer the question.
I moderate and program 2 forums and both of them have an entire 'noob' section. Anything posted that is obviously noob get's moved to those sections to keep hardcore discusssion about the topic in the hardcore areas. The only thing about this thread is that I think it should be in toke n talk, or another section and not 'The Grow Room.'
