I wrote it in the simplest terms possible, for a person completely new to mushrooms. and in great detail.
I have many years of mushrooms experience.
The only thing i would change about that Tek, or the PFtek is instead of using Brown Rice Flour.
Get a bag of Wild Bird Seed. you can find a 20lb bag for $6 to $10.
and get a electric coffee grinder. ($12)
and turn the wild bird seed into flour.
and use it exactly as you would brown rice flour.
"WBS" is cheaper, and i would say it has more nutrients then rice.
Also the #1 thing i wish someone had told me sooner.
is instead of using the metal lid on the jar.
Set the metal lid aside, and go to the United States Post Office.
And get some "tyvek" envelopes. they are FREE. just walk in to the little podium with mail supplies.
Find the envelopes, usually red, or blue. you know they are tyvek if you cant rip it with your fingers.
and if you look real close, it looks like fiber glass.
they should say tyvek in a corner somewhere in fine print.
Grab a small stack, and walk out.
Place them over your jar, and press the jar ring down on the envelope, and screw down tight.
this creates a double layer of tyvek.
cut away the envelope with a razor blade, or exacto knife.
you can get about 4-6 jars done per envelope.
Pressure cook the jars, with foil capped on them.
and then when its time to innoculate the jars, stab the needle straight though the tyvek, and cover the needle hole with a piece of medical tape.
