6 out of 8 of my seedlings sprouted yesterday. 3 look relatively ok, the other 3 look like complete shit. What is wrong with them? are they gonna make it? They are in FFOF, under a 125w CFL. The ones that look like shit are brown and dry lookin on the tips, and they arent opening up like the others did. The 3 on the left are the healthy ones, the 3 on the right are the ones that arent so healthy lookin. I sure hope they are gonna be ok, the only other seeds I have now are bagseed so if these fail, I'm screwed as far as good genetics are concerned.

They all look good, but some are still opening up. Mist them twice a day for a week, and don't get the lights too close.

Ok, I've been misting them.. do I have to water them anymore? or just mist? The light is about 3.5-4in above them, should I raise it? lower it?

They look good, you might want to move the light closer though, to about 2 inches away - it will help to keep them from stretching. Maybe grab a couple more lights to throw on em too.
Good luck!

Lol.. You're going to have to learn to be patient or you're going to be pulling your hair out! We all understand your excitement, enjoy growing, it's a great hobby!
and your seedlings are all good like the others said.

those look absolutely fine for their age, trust me they will really take off in about a week

Ok good.. these friggin things are stressin me out! i gotta take a bong hit. Anyway, how should I be watering em? I read all the different guides and stuff and they all say something different. I'm having trouble figuring out how dry is dry. I poke my finger down in there and cant really tell if its "dry" or not. I've been misting the tops of the cups just to keep the surface moist, but it still seems kinda dry to me. The soil is moist when it comes out of the bag so I can't tell what "dry" really is. Am I supposed to let it dry out completely, like crusty desert? or should it be moist all the way through?(not just on top)

Dude...if you start your grow lookin for problems like this your gonna be in for a loooooooooong adventure. Don't over water them right now, a light misting when the top layer gets dry is all they need.

Dont let the soil get BONE DRY ever, otherwise the root tips star to die. You just wanna wait a good bit in between make sure that at least the first inch or two is dry.

your trying to hard :P, you can pick up the container and if it feels light you should water a little bit, or if the soil looks brown, compared to black after watering they may need a little water, but at this young just misting and watering a little bit every 3-5 days is plenty for them. later in life you can water when the leaves start to droop, careful they droop when you over water also its kinda complicated so just take your time watering is the hardest thing to master when growing with soil, but you will get the hang of it
