think im having a problem, yesterday was my 1st day into flower and when i checked my ph this morning my roots have a slight brown tinge to them..couldnt take a pic cause the light went off as i was finishing up. my ? is im using the gh 2 part nutes, stuff looks like mud, and extreme serene also looks like mud. wondering if these nutes will turn roots a brown tinge or if its slime er algae..usually? my temps this morn were 72 in one bucket an 73 in the other..put a frozen bottle in each and brought it down to 67 and 68..

folks, i have figured out how to stop the brown slime in its tracks with very minimal root surgery. after a day of searching, reading, calling every possible person u can think of..hehe my lady is going to love this phone bill lol.
its called flora shield, the label says to flush for an hour or so, a rep at general hydro says to let it run for 8 hours in dwc, 1 ounce of flora shield per gal of h20. i used a 5 gal bucket with 3 gals of h20. 2 gallons were at room temp and 1 gal was cold from the fridge..brought the temp down to 60. i ran it for almost 9 hours, pulled the baskets out and the roots were WHITE! then redid my nutes and now almost a day later no slime temps is at
69 with a frozen bottle of water. i hope this can help ill post pics later when the light comes on. please feel free to ask ?s

Here is a little tip for root growth. I start my seedlings in a small one gallon tote. The smaller net pot and tote lets the roots grow faster. This is what you want in the first few weeks. I just started a new grow, my seedling is 2 weeks old... and i have lots of roots in the tote. Its almost time to transfer into the bigger tote. Nice big healthy roots are key to a good grow.
I also add some of olivia's cloning solution to the res. for root development.
Good Luck.
