I would just hash it then. What route is cheaper?
Depends on use, hash takes alot of ice, probably $10 a lbs run but also similar cost with the bags to put in the press but I think some can be washed and reused. Initial investment for rosin is double the hash tho in equipment. idfk

20190924_092953.jpg I just picked up this Dulytek press & have only pressed about a QP of last years outdoor. The weed i am using is old a very dry so most of the rosin i press seems to stay stuck to the squash bag. I quit using the bags & just press a few pucks that I squish in the press before i turn on the heat. Pressing old dry weed seems to average 6/10 of a gram from about 5 grams of weed. from what i have seen you want to press weed that registers about 65 % moisture, I haven't tried any fresh weed yet. So far i think it is a good unit for personal use to avoid solvent that might be present in wax. If i was looking to press out a bunch to serve on Instagram i would choose a larger unit.

Fuck man, do I get the press or not? Do I get the bubble bags for a garbage can and a portable washing machine? Or screw concentrates?
If you dont know what you want then your likely going to lose money no matter what to be honest.theres a big differance between the differant types of hash and in many cases people who like one dont like the others much.

Maybe I'll go ahead with the press. the stuff I grow and cure tends to be sticky buds, even the small ones so if resin is the key to yield I may be good to go.

What do you recommend for bags, micron/size?

My buds are sticky and frosted up as can be, even frost on the fan leaf, didnt help me. Def go for it though you'll always get something, maybe a lot it's impossible to say till you squish it!

You just gotta figure if you want a few grams of rosin more than you want the bud itself.
If your the type that hates to smoke an loves to dab an dont want to use butain then obviously get it an be done

I'm not sure I have some 160 micron & 37 micron bags I plan to experiment with. The old dried out stuff i have been pressing little pucks inside of those 160 micron bags and removing it & just pressing it on the parchment paper. I have one of those spin trimmers that dumps a lot of kief I'll try the 37 micron on that using the bottom larf. It's new to me but the kid down the street says he gets 4 to 6 grams from a zip from the smaller buds using a press about the same size with a large valve wheel, something like you would see on a 6in gate valve.
My opinion on making extracts rosin, wax or alcohol you put in $100 worth of bud & end up with $50 worth of nice extract. Use the bottom & inter buds & press away.

Exactly.

I'd have to regularly get 6g per oz for it to be even. And even then I'm just wasting time.

If I turned that into cartridges then that may make more sence but that's hit an miss too.

I have the nug smasher, with it I average about 1 to 1.2 grams per 7 grams squished. I use 160 micron bags at 200 for 4 minutes but each plant produces differently. Only use Kirkland brand parchment paper, it is head and shoulders above the rest IMO. The key for me is the humidity and fresher weed the better. I make sure the weed I plan to press is sealed with a 62% bovida bag, dryer weed produces much less. Dryer weed was only yielding .6 to .8 per 7 grams so I make sure if I want some pressed it is fresher stuff that has been stored with a bovida bag. For trim and such I have used dry ice shaken in my 75 micron bubble bag which gives a great result of keef, then if you wanted you could press that through like a 37 micron bag and you have gooey and some hash or just enjoy the keef :D

I never looked into that model myself, the one i saw was black with the crank on the top. a few people on another site recommended the one i picked up.
The one you have was my first choice weeks ago, gonna get it and this way we can compare notes on the same model with different techniques... Biggest plates for the buck too.

Parchment paper looks pretty damn expensive... is it really that different then the stuff in Walmart, etc for $3?

Never tried the costco stuff but ya the 20 sheets that come with the press are thicker with a shinier surface & are way better. I haven't had any of them split open but some of it seems to press threw the Walmart stuff. with fresh moist weed i don't think you would have to press as hard. the neighborhood showed up i'm out

There was parchment paper on amazon $11 for 50 precut sheets, sleave the second run with the walmart parchment & get 100 presses. I think I will hit up costco for a bulk pack & give it a try
I noticed most of the expensive parchment on amazon is silicon coated. Found 15" x 33 foot rolls of Wilton brand silicone coated parchment at Joann Fabrics for $4.49 a roll, gonna give that a try.
