root problem please help!!!

My plants are outdoor plants and i put the pots in holes and Iv just been watering them in the holes because there a pain in the ass to move those big things back and fourth everyday well I lifted up the pot today and it wasn't coming out of the hole I end up getting it out and I see this what should I do there growing into regular dirt is this gonna harm my plant in any way if so what can I do to prevent this????

dig a bigger hole and fill the bottom and sides with A+ compost or potting mix, for those fatties.

Yeah, with regards to the actual root it shouldn't do too much damage, and if anything a bit of air pruning may have encouraged new root growth elsewhere. Though if the crack is recent then since they're in flower already probably not much root growth going on anyway, but either way, the roots won't mind it per se.

My only slight concern would've been that it is another entry point for bugs/bacteria/diseases, but I guess that's always a risk with outside growing anyway. My only advice would maybe be to seal the crack up with tape and something like another bit of broken plastic plant pot that will fit the contour. Either that or raise the pot up onto a few paving slabs/riser/blocks.

But overall the reason I think you're ok is at the moment is that they're looking gorgeous in those pics certainly! Looks good grow dude!

And btw, if u were concerned about how brown, limp and dry the roots u got in ur hand were, then don't worry as that is what roots do naturally look like after exposure to light & outside air.

Ones of the main plus points is in your pic u can see the browning off only starts just after where they appear outside through the crack, and the roots above & inside are still nice, white, fresh & flufflyish! I'd only be worried if they looked to be turning any darker, nasty colours, plus theres no obvious mold or slime on them which is damn good too.

I know what u mean dude but for this grow in hand I wouldnt feel comfortable doing a transplant when they look to be about 3 weeks into flowering. For future you could plant in ground but then that does mean sorting out the beds in your garden which can be a pain too. Though I appreciate not everyone would take the lazy route like I do, so fair play if you prefer it.

Though to relate the pots used here to the benefits of planting in ground, I do agree with Abiqua that you should've used deeper pots, as yours are quite shallow and wide.

Ok, you put the pots in the ground to keep the light off them and the soil temps down, good deal.
You watered the hole and not in the pot. Your plants roots grew to the moisture!
Next time, water the pot and not the soil around it.

I watered in the pot it just when I water it goes out through the bottom of the pot witch causes the hole to get wet and confuse my roots but I solved my problem just by simply moving them out the hole when I water even though these pots are around 70-80 pounds so every day I got to move theses heavy ass plants to one side of my yard to another just to water them then put back when they got water in them and there twice as heavy after that but it's alright gotta do what u gotta do its also a good workout I suppose but thanks everybody your comments were awesome they really did help alot stay updated there only getting bigger stay high everybody!!!!

Leave em alone in the holes & water... stop making an issue where there is none... save your back-- or get a hand truck/dolly. Work smarter, not harder.
