Room build: my first ever grow build (with pictures)

Room looks fantastic man I'm a bit jealous. I have always wanted to have a nice finished well rounded room, just waiting to buy a house.

I've had good results with the fox farms as well, the soluble powders have high numbers of nutes, but if you only use what your supposed to, or even less then you won't have any issues. I ran Fox farms for both soil growing and hydro growing with almost identical results for flavor and such. I've been running clones of my white widow for the last 4 years so I've gotten to toy with lots of experiments with the exact same genetics to observe the results. I've tried about 6-10 different nutes/combinations of nutes, I've tried flushing and not flushing, I've tried pruning and not pruning, and have had great results all the way along. As far as nutes go I think using them properly(which often means less then what the bottle says) is more important then which nutes you use. I'm not saying there aren't good and bad nutes, but if you do some research into them all you will find that many times it will be almost the same product in 4 different bottles with 4 different price tags. I'm currently using GH and have been for over a year now, I believe once I find an easy to aquire source I will be going back to some I used a few years ago called ENVY. I have to say I think they were my favorite nutes I've ever used, and since they aren't marketed to cannabis growers they aren't over priced. http://www.envybrand.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=frontpage&Itemid=1 That is a hydro nute but one to look at if you switch down the road. Getting started with fox farms is a great idea IMO they have a good line up and I've had great results.

I don't want to keep rambling but I'm sub'd so I'll be around. Please check out my journal, my soil grow with the fox farms nutes starts around page 30-35 I wanna say. I did a few things that grow that I had great results with, including injecting air directly into the root ball of my soil plants got great results! I didn't use the air pots but will useing either those or smart pots next time I grow in soil.

Peace bongsmilie

I agree that synthetic or organic might not be the biggest factor with flavor. More studies are needed. I do agree that a long slow dry and cure will ensure the most flavor. I havnt tried not flushing so I cannot argue about that. When I used to buy weed the guy who sold it didnt flush and my stuff is so much smoother. This is not a good enough result for me so I need to try not fluching some of my plants to see how it works.

I flushed my whole growing life and then one day read some convincing stuff and had some stuff about a month into flower so i thought id try not dong it.

I usually would flush from 10 days to a week depending on how much i was feeding them before.

And ever since i stopped ive had the same flavor, thats only really getting better by my learning. And a slight increase in total weight.

So now i cut nutes 3 days before just to save a little nutes.

I do however use an iffy product ,in some peoples eyes, called Snowstorm Ultra.

Thats the only thing ive done in growing where i noticed a SIGNIFICANT change in my end product.

And i agree fully that much more studies are needed.

WE need that pineapple express bunker and some scientist testing every nute and additive for proof!!!

Budbro, thundercat, chipmunk: the time you took to share your experience with me is very much appreciated. I appreciate that you are speaking from your first hand experience and making that be known because many times people are just regurgitating what they have read on the interwebs....

It surprisingly doesnt. They have these rings that look like this (orange piece)

superoots-air-pots-3.png

so i just set them in a 5 gallon bucket or ontop of cardboard because about 1/2 inch of dirt falls out the bottom when you fill em

and if you use the 5 gallon bucket it will build up a small layer of dirt that will stop any after the first 2 from losing that little bit of dirt.

as well as small amounts out the sides. then you just empty the bucket back into your bag of dirt.

I have however seen people get pantyhose and make a small but breathable cover around the bottom piece.

but none comes out after you get it all wet for the first time.

I can only imagine man. I'm really hoping I'll be able to buy a place within the next year. We have been building credit for about 9 months now, and we are currently working on where we want to buy and a down payment. I really want a basement, but we would like to head out to CO and not many houses seem to have them.

Budbro: makes sense. I'm about to get a dozen 1gl right now.

Twitch: in more ways than one

Wiz: thanks

Youll never get rid of them! They're the best. Haven't grown with shit else but them since I first found em.

also in that cocktail is that humbolt county's own or humbolt nutrients?

because I use SNOWSTORM ULTRA by humbolt county's own and it does wonders!!!

Nice rooms there!
Hydro is easy to run and cheaper too.
My current set up.
3x5 foot with reflective walls on all 4 sides/1000w hps with cool hood....8-5 gallon net pot buckets..DIY water farm system.
screen made of mason line set on 2"centers.10"pots filled with perlite.air pump running 24/7.nutes(just one bottle)start to finish.Floranova bloom....7oz. per 28 gallon batch.
30 day veg.,now at 30 day flower and the screen is full, not one burn on leaf tips...just lush and big bushes.
I think the main thing is keeping the walls close to the plant for big harvest.

Just wanted to add this since humbolt county's own was being discussed. I tried gravity once, but then after reading this and other similar things(this was just the first I found today) I decided that the benefits were not worth the possible risks. https://www.rollitup.org/general-marijuana-growing/459639-warning-carcinogens-found-humboldt-countys.html I leave you all to make your own decisions based off your own further research.
wow, thanks for the info TC! I now have to find alternatives to humboldt county's crystal burst and also gravity. If you have any recommendations that would be Awesome...

thanks
