So I am returning to the grow. Small scale. 2x4 or so. Only 2 plants at a time. I want low heat output so i am going led. When I think I found an led brand I end up finding another and another and....Money does not matter. I am looking for the best of the best. I want a light for each plant. Some of the lights I have been looking at are. Apache tech at200, at120, A51 xgs 190, black dog bd240-u, illumitex neosol ds 520. Just some options. I am also considering mixing. Maybe going with 2 at120 for the canopy and 4 neosol ls. 2 on each side of the 4 foot part. I want to stick between 400 and 600 total watts used. Also I want the best possible results for personal use only. So I am willing to spend the money for multiple lights for each phase. 2 for veg 2 for flower. I know the at120 comes in different spectrum's. The at200 does not. I may also consider using t5's for veg. Help me out people.

You can veg with next to no wattage with a few floros or blue LEDs. you do not need to spend large on the veg.
As for wattages for flower, with only two plants you are looking at approx 120-150 actual watts of LED. Actual, not equiv. Count your diodes and multiply by 1.6 for a quick calculation. 80 watts per plant works well. just need to supplement with some UV fluorescents ( do not buy UV LEDs).

600 watts in a 2x4...

I'm in.

Seems a51 is a industry standard. But 2x4 is a stretch for one light. Even a BIG ONE. Stay cool

2 AT200's is what I'd do. Or the illumitex DS. The AT200's and the neosol ls bars would be bad ass though.

in a 2"7'x4"11' im running 3 of the area 51 rw-150, they're performing amazing so far, only day 13f but the first buds are coming in, so I will know soon how good they really are!

I'm not going to vote. Just putting that out there for others who also don't have experience with any of these.

I've heard good things about all of them.

I have 2 rw-150s in a 2x4' (310w) and 2 cxa3070 3000k Z4's in a 3x3 but they are just waiting for the other 8 cxa3070 3000k AB's to show.

Once I have all 10 cxa's and other parts I will move the a51's to the (housemates) 3x3' and the COB's into the 2x4' @ 700 or 1050mA.

Either way works and will pull in a quality harvest.

I can not comment on any others personally, but 2 at200'$ would be awesome for $ure.

According to SDS numbers twelve AB 3070's at 1.4A would put out 1153 uE of PPF but he has only 0.7 square meters of space, giving 1650 uE PPFD on average. Isn't that way too much? Six AB 3070's at 1.4A would produce 931 uE PPFD on average. That's about 350W and under $500 for COBs, $20 drivers (MW LPC-60), and $10 CPU coolers.

I am very happy with the BML SPYDR 600

but DIY COBs are worth while if you have the skillz

See my thread for pics @ 44 days from first pistils

my vote goes with inda gro and diy cree cobs. With led you want to add supplemental uv-b t5 and and 730 IR led. Makes a big difference

Either two area 51 rw 150s or two rapidLED onyx. I'm running a xgs and rw now in a 2x4, was 2x3. Think the rw is out performing the xgs. I pulled 6.5oz in tge 2x3 with one xgs. Buddy dxe just pulled 1lb with his 3 onyx in a 4x4 with a 2 week veg. Apache is great too. I'd shy away from the illumitex I've only seen one good grow but using a spectrum you can't even buy. Perhaps why guy left the company to start bml which seems to do better from what I've seen. Though no real hands on with those later two.

Not saying you are wrong, but...

neither do I see any huge benefits from having adding it

you have seen benefits of IR with lights on. Why else did you run coral waves...

Have you ran uv-b? There isn't any leds that produce uv-b. You will have far more trichome production with uv-b.. Ir will make buds denser. Running IR at lights out, you can run longer days having lights on longer. Triggering phytochrome state.. 660 hastens phytochrome state when lights turn on. All which improves yield and bud size. have you ran that as well?

inda gro has uv-b and uv-a and 730 plus 730 leds at light out.

we might be seeing a future marketing idea right in front of us. 10000 watts adjustable down 250. Every spectrum known to man available in different LEDs also available switched or on switch laugh out loud just amusing myself still looking for that perfect plant. The one that's ready in 2 weeks puts out a pound and has a set of lips on it
