So eat veggies and smoke dope and we should all live forever. You can certainly see how he's stirring the pot.

Of course he is stirring the pot, it's the butt crack of dawn somewhere and we are RIUnians's it is what we do! LOL

The data I carry away from this is I am hitting up Klite for lunch and his virtual adversary for dinner or vice versa. I gotta test their hypothesis for accuracy!

I'm still dreaming of ham sammichs.

“Diet can be used to prevent and reverse cancer just like it prevents and reverses heart disease,” he said. “A diet high in animal protein increases the amount of carcinogens going to the cells. It increases the enzyme MFO (mixed function oxidase) that causes increased carcinogenic activity.”

This isn't the first time I've heard of this. But I'm not giving up delicious meat, I'll just increase my cannabis intake to off set the cancerous steaks I love.

I love putting meat in my mouth. Its so good when it hits my lips and the juices explode on my tongue.

Ever see a vegan who's been one for years? A lot of them come in to my places for breakfast and there's one thing in common.... Almost ALL of them have this strange, almost clear and shiny skin. It's like fuckin' plastic crackly coating where the skin should be! Can't be healthy.

Give me cancer anyday!

Since I child I can remember salivating when seeing all the different meat cuts across the glass at the market.

I'm happy as heck that I can whip up a good steak to my well liking. Most I've paid for a steak was about $50 bucks for a delicious filet mignon at Original Joes in San Jose.

I'll take that over buying an 1/8 anyday.

I guess all the Paleo's are shitting their pants… You should read THEIR research… I tried paleo earlier this Spring for a few months. Couldn't do it. Not because I'm against meat but because it was SOOOO restrictive!

I don't eat much meat, it doesn't agree with me, upsets my stomach. But I do believe plant based diets to be infinitely healthier. Processed foods are worse than meat IMO

I don't quite know what I believe on the food front...Everytime the new's is on there is some new scientific study talking about re-writing the food pyramid....I agree processed food's are trash.....If you eat a very heavy protein diet thats trash....If you eat a very vegan diet that's trash....The only thing that's clear to me is that if you take something to the extreme it usually is not very healthy for you in the long run.... I believe Balance light meals with a lil everything in em and activity work's ok.....I I met a vegan who let's say has been one for @ least 10-15 yrs my opinion's would likely change

I kinda just go with what my body and mind are craving. I eat meat but not a ton like I used to... my body seems to be pretty good at letting me know what I need to eat and not just what I want to eat.

It's like everything else, though. There is a myriad of body constitutions and there isn't a one size fits all to eating. People metabolize foods differently. I've seen some pretty sickly looking lifelong vegans (I went vegan for over a year) and I've seen bloodshot looking meat eaters.

I so wanted to stay w/ the vegan thing, but no matter what combo of foods I ate or how much plant proteins I incorporated, my iron was not being metabolized and I was anemic. I know, doesn't make sense with all the leafy greens I eat. Supplements were not the ticket either for B vitamins for me. So had to incorporated a bit of animal protein back into my plan. It didn't take much, but that balanced things out more.

I've got a friend (girl) who is a body building vegan and she looks fantastic. Has anyone ever read "Eat right for your Type?" it's about nourishing yourself based on blood type. Pretty interesting reading.

That's all fine but you show me the research saying that ....Here's a good example some people have smoked cigarette's since they were very young too all the way into there 90's and lived healthy complete life's....We now know better that cig's are not good for you and that is not the case for most people ....My doc report's have not changed since I stopped smoking the only thing that has changed is he does not tell me I should stop smoking. Guess my point is 15 years from now and same with your buddy your body's nutritional need's will change....
