reflective materials- using mirrors

I have not read one thing on what i covered my room with. I have installed mirrors. my walls and celing are flat white and 4ft of the walls are covered in mirrors. Has any one got any experience with using them ? Better than milar right ?

well the books say that because the light has to pass through glass befor it reaches the mirror suppot not be as good as mylar how ever when the talk about mylar being reflective it has to be flat and clean smothing that doesnt last long i have room with mirros on wall and flat white paint every where else and the mirror defently beats the paint i like em think they work good

well I know this = When I have the lights on there is a bright reflection across the floor where the mirrors are . I was sceptical at first until I saw the bright light reflection when I layed the mirror against the wall, So I covered the walls with them. I personally think there great. easy to clean. Whats panda film ??

Mirrors are bad, Mkay.

Panda film or the big rolls of mylar are ideal. Plain flat white walls are next best and mirrors are no good as they absorb the light. (Although they look the coolest imo.) =)

Mirror's reflect 40-60% of the light back at them. Stick with panda film, it's easy to place in all the right spots, and cheap.

Panda is easiest, mylar is a little tougher to deal with but is definitely more reflective. Mirrors are just stupid.

ok I read a lil on this and this is a better mirror than glass and glass mirrors do absorb light. but not a first surface mirrors like mylar.
The other type of mirror in a "First Surface" mirror, where the reflective surface has no glass to cover it: the light will be reflected without passing through *any* glass to absorb it. These will reflect UV - and most every other wavelength of light very efficiently.

the glass dont reflect uv they absorb it.

I didn't say the figures were stupid, I meant you are stupid. If you are struggling to decide what the hell to put on the walls, I can't wait till you actually try to grow some plants.

Just get some shiny aluminum foil, I recommended mylar though.

Funny that you have this mountain of grows under your belt yet you just built a room...and lined it with mirrors. I read your post, and the general jist was (other than you can't spell the word mylar) was that you wanted people to tell you that you did the right thing. But you didn't and now your getting all poopy pants.

But your right, ALL the experienced growers use mirrors. I think you should have used magnifying glasses actually.

where did you get these figures from? lol pulled them straight out of your ass?

this is my 4th room and your the one that said it was stupid. and i read the info at 420 and it says nothing about mirrors. and all this comming from a person with pink walls. (NOT even flat white!) my whole room is flat white i just put the mirrors up bc my LIGHT METER says the mirrors are reflecting 10% more light than the white paint. you just think i threw them up just bc they look cool ? NOT! (but they really do make it look cool). One more thing you need to correct your grammer on your scrog " Nutes:
They plants are a week old so I am feeding them a tiny bit. Like just barely. I'm not using filtered water so my base PPM is 21". THEY PLANTS ???

Hey I think you'll be okay with the mirrors bro. But there are a few better options. It's on you though so if you want mirrors, have mirrors.
