Real Deal C99. Who's breeding it?

I have got this strain from Goldenseeds called Higgs Boson, just thought I'd drop this in and see what you C99 guys think. No info on it on strain finder. They gave me a shit tonne for free, and I am not sure what to expect. Thoughts or experience?

"This new batch is a cross of two exceptional basic pheno types, the Grapefruit and the Pineapple. Both derived from the original Brothers Grimm C99. It matures in 4 weeks from seed, which is much faster than the original C99 (6 - 8 weeks)"

That has gotta be a bunch of horse hewey, people don't even believe in 6 week strains. At four weeks your picking daisies.

That quote is from Female Seeds originally. And to the poster 2 above me, what they mean is 4 weeks until it's ready to flower, unlike the original which was allegedly 6-8 weeks before it could flower. It could have been worded better as it has has probably caused confusion, but they're not from an English speaking country as they're from Holland/The Netherlands what ever it's called these days.

well, one day if I have nothing else going on I'll popsum. Just thought I'd see what the vote was on them from some C99er's. I have mucho grande beans to go through first. Trying to prioritize my time.

Thanks eastie! appreciate it man :-)

As for living up to the hype. Depends how much you expect from it. I don't find the buzz racy , I find it euphoric, hypnotic and a bit trippy, all in the head and very potent. Idk what could make it any better really for a smoke that is versatile, day or night. You get to enjoy the thc without being glued to a seat. Not that i don't like being glued down once in a while, I just prefer the head high. So i personally totally get the holy grail label. It's all subjective anyway, but it a quality sativa strain at the end of the day.
Back to the topic: I've found your descriptions of the FS c-99 to mirror my most recent one, and agree w/ your pov. I've called it a 'bright and shiny' high and meant the same thing ' hynotic, euphoric, and...trippy '. Add delicious, and that sums it up for me. I'm not a subscriber to the 'holy grail' thiing, as what I'm in the mood for at a particular time of day changes. That said, it really agrees w/ me during the day. Sure hope I find another like it.

I'll believe it when I see it.

Ah right, cool. Did the original C99 take 6-8 weeks to mature? Fark that's a while.
Its bs if they have just copied the FS description though. Although there are many breeders out there who do the same thing, its still bs.

the bro's grimm c99 matured pretty fast imo, in fact, the males showed way before i was ready and ended up with a few beans in mine.. :(

but umm, ime, 6 weeks or so from seed is pretty typical for a plant to reach sexual maturity, no?

yes, it's the frost bro's who are working with c99 from bro's grimm stock, but according to dizzle frost, from the frost bros, the only thing he's grown in the past year is older, so no new beans have been out in a while, and all of his other gear has been sold out for awhile now..
I'll bet anyone trying to germinate Frost Bros. C99 is having the challenge of their life. This is my second attempt, and it took 7 days of babying to obtain 50% germ rate.

Had the same issue a year and a half ago with the very same batch of seeds.

BTW, I have 4 out of the ground.:peace:

Female's C99 is just an S1 of the original, that's why they're using the same description.
That doesn't mean the offspring will all be the same as the description.

I haven't tried Female Seeds, but all the fem. seeds I've grown haven't been very stable when it comes to phenotype variation.
Hard decisions sometimes!

Id like to ad to this thread. Being an original recipient of C99 from Brothers Grimm themselves, I can accurately say, she finishes in 50- 52 days. High as described above: euphoric, like on a cloud-very high. The pictures posted are spot on for pheneotypes of this plant. Very accurate.

Moscas bx1 version of cindy is mostly straight pineapple fruit punch, very hassle free to grow and done in 50 days flowering but 1 pheno I had would give even super hardcore smokers a hit of pure paranoia never had anything like it and let it go but well worth a look
How's the yeild? I've read that moscas is a low yeilder but from what I understand c99 is supposed to be a high yeilder

In my experiences, c99 is not a high yielder. Im refering to brothers grimm genetics. Anyone elses genetics i cant speak for cause im not sure what they crossed her with while still calling her c99,

have you ever smoked bodhi's apollo 11 g pheno skunk? if so, how's it compare to the c99?

I have not grown Bohdi's version of A-11, but have grown Reservoir's and Joey Weed's.

A-11 is far more pulse poundingly intense with it's initial rush after the first couple of tokes.
More sativa in it's long term intoxication.

I prefer A-11 over the more mellow C-99 for an uplifting, enlightening sativa buzz.

a-11 is some good shit. I do agree. I know mota has and f4 or f5. Im not sure how good it is. Resevoir unfortunately is out of business and joey is no more as well. I should of grabbed that cut when i had the chance from another memeber at i.c. unfortuately, i didnt. Win some and lose some.
