Rabbit Manure Tea question....

I'm making a rabbit manure tea, using a 5 gallon bucket, a fish tank pump, 35% of the bucket filled with rabbit manure, probably about 80-100 ML of roots organics trinity (biocatalyst, yucca extract, molasses, etc.)

after bubbling only an hour the liquid is pretty nice looking brown, I'm stirring it every hour or two, and I'm also planning on adding a lil more bio-catalyst tomorrow morning and letting it brew up until the 48 hour mark.

what I was wondering was... how much should I use of this stuff per gallon with my other flowering nutrients?

I'm using this to correct a slight N deficiency due to the sugars from the nutrients I've been using causing the increased uptake of N or whatever.

Thats a lot of bunny poo for a 5 gal mix. You could dilute that by 3/4, and either foliar feed or just water it in. I don't know anything about those other nutes, but the rabbit poo won't burn anything. The longer you "brew" it, the better it'll be. I'd go about 3 days with all that poo.
You only need to stir it about 2 times a day to be effective. I don't stir mine but once a day (55Gal Drum) Just be sure it's well aerated.

its bubbling hella well I used a good air pump.

so diluting by 3/4.... so would I be looking at like 300-400 ML per 5 gallons?

Naw, I'm saying 5 gal should make about 20 gal of foliar spray. I'd half it to water with it. (50/50) What I don't know is what the effect of all that other stuff will do as far as burning. Prolly nothing, but like I said, I ain't familiar with 'em. I just use bunny poo and EWC for the most part.

That is extremely strong. I use 4 -5 cups of worm castings depending on whether its flower or veg; 1/2 cup alfalfa, a cup of bat guano and some molasses. Maybe 6-7 cups total of stuff would be strong in a five gallon bucket so 4.5 gallons of water. If I foliar feed i put 1 - may 1.5 cups in a gallon sprayer.
The whole point of aeration is to encourage bacteria growth, nutrients do not increase with aeration.
This video is about organic lawn care but it changed the way I approach compost tea. I use 5 gallons of compost tea to spray about 20 MJ plants, about 500 feet of vegetables and flowers and about 1/4 acre of lawn. And still had some left over. By the was all my grass greened right up.

You can always make it stronger but its hard to un-fuckup things, you know.

I agree. The bunny poo is strong enough, it's the other bottled stuff I don't know about. Like you said, it's hard to un-fuck it.

well hmm.... so maybe I should try a half cup per 5 gal just to be safe....

I'll take a pic showin what I'm workin with in a lil bit.

also is it ok if it's in the sun while it's bubbling? or should I put it in the shade? I figured some heat would be good but idk.

I would keep it out of direct sunlight if it were me. Too much heat isn't a good thing and strong UV can kill bacteria and fungi, although probably not through an opaque container. I'd get another opinion on this one though. :?

well the video up there recommended you brew 18 hours with a little fish tank heater in there. so I'm gonna leave it in the sun, I'll try it tomorrow ;) I'll post a pic in a bit.

I intentionally brew mind wit a few cups so I can delude it for tea, and then use the extra for soil feeding. What you do foliar will show quick results but the long lasting results will come in the soil.

yeah I"m going to be doing soil feeding exclusively since I"m in budding ;).

what do you guys think about a quarter cup-half cup of this nice stuff per 5 gal of water?

here are the pics:

and that brown color is exclusively from the rabbit shit, some of it had starrted to compost already. I only added about 100ML of trinity which is a dark brown but not enough to overtake the entire 5 gallon bucket ;)

Yeah, Thats sludge, not tea!!!LOL. Thats some nice looking shit! Literally. I'd say start out with that, I very seriously doubt you'll burn anything.

cool and after the initial 24 hour bubbling am I going to want to bubble it like a couple hours a day or something to keep the tea alive??

I fill a bucket half full with manure (chicken/rabbit/whatever) and pour water over the rest, leave 2 days bubbling then dilute 20-1

manures are very 'hot' it's very easy to burn, much easier to add more, then fix nute burn.

Just add a bit of water and keep bubling it. You can get away with adding quite a bit of water as you take some out to use it because that looks more like the La Brea tar pits than a "Tea"!!! LOL

@cannatricks ahh so my quarter cup to half cup per 5 gallons isn't a very far off estimation for how potent this sht is....

@jack ahh yeah I've heard you can also add lil bits of molasses here and there to give the bacteria a lil food to eat.

Jack Harer

You could do that with the molasses, but they have enough food to break down in there to last the millenia!!! Molasses as a sustainer for the micro-colony is good for when there is a lack of other organic matter for them to feed on.

k col so I pretty much wanna bubble it 24/7 then..... maybe I should move this bucket indoors at night huh?

With manure after initial bubbling and dilution into 50 gal drums (into 50 I throw it out and bubble my dilution, too many bacteria's (I usually use chicken guano though) That works best if you have a steady supply, obviously. There are some pretty nasty pathogens in guano's so just keep in mind the more good bacterial life, that also means the bad normally. I haven't read much into sanitary needs of rabbit poop, but I would definitely check wnat to know what kind of bacterial pathogens it has normally, before I keep it for long periods.
