pure indica's: 12/12 from seed?

I'm growing under 5 CFL's (four 40w'ers and a 23w to mix it up a bit), I want my plants to finish around 15-17" tall, my question is when growing mostly indica plants, in this case I'll be growing Aurora Indica from Nirvana (Northern Lights x Afgan), will I be better off going 12/12 from seed or should I veg, and if so, how long? How much stretch should I expect during flowering from an indica?

your gonna need to veg

Im pretty interested on what time hours you will use and how long you will use each one to get around that height, but would they be potent at all. If you just budded from the beginning wouldnt it just basically be an auto flowering plant?

are you usin soil or hydro?

if you want to do a sea of green that strain should work, thats what i would suggest given you want short plants. if you work it right you can still get a good yield.

are you gonna flower with hps or just cfl's? what is the kelvin temp of your lights?

If you don't veg and just do 12/12 your plants won't flower untill they are good and ready. Otherwise you can change the light cycle to stimulate flowering by tricking the plant into believing it's time to die. Because in nature marijuana only lives 1 year and is survived by it's children(seeds) embedded in it's rich flowers. Light change, signifies season change. So when the day shortens the flowers began to flower.

Gonna be in FFOF/Perlite in 20oz (~16oz) soda bottles, yes its gonna be a SOG (or hopefully will be eventually, haha but yeah thats the goal)

40w CFL's are 2700k
the 23w is 6500k

I'm curious 'cause my first grow which was bagseed and i abused the HELL out of, I veg'd for WEEKS, then changed to 12/12 and it almost immediatly stopped growing but just grew buds. I'm sure other factors (nute burn, pH all over the place, 95* temps, etc.) influenced the growth pattern of that plant, but I dont wanna have a 6" A.I. if I just got 12/12 from the start, but at the same time I know with more balanced hybrids or sativa based plants you can go 12/12 from seed and still wind up with a fairly big plant...

i would have your light spectrum more blue for veg (6500k) use the 2700k for flowering. those 2700k are gonna make your plants stretch more than the 6500k ones. check out my journal. i posted some pics recently. i am also using cfls.

Well I do want a LITTLE stretch...
I think with the AI i'm gonna let it veg in my PC case till its 4 - 6" tall and I'll go from there....

i know this was long ago but how did that go? did u do it 12/12 from the start?
im asking because im growing a blue mystic (northern lights x bluebuerry, 80% indica) 12/12 from seed they r 2 weeks old right now.
