I've never grown a white label Northern Lights. But the Northern lights i grew (Ministry of Cannabis) was VERY low odor. Didn't use a filter or ona gel. Didn't smell at all until last week. Even then it was a subtle orange peel (rotting) smell. She cured to smell just like fresh oranges.

Hope your plant in low odor as well. =)

I think I might bend her over instead of topping..
Now THAT sounds like fun... Oh, you were talking about the NL. Looks great dude, and I'm glad that you have a little smoke to pass the time while you tend to this one. Will stay tuned.

Thanks everyone!

Anyway today is day 14 since she broke the surface and she is working on her 5th node and is 4 inches tall. The stems have the most lovely exotic lemony smell , I would wear it as an aftershave if i could. So far this is the healthiest and most vigorous seed i have popped.

They look great Puff, very much looking forward to seeing them in full flower hey ;)
Hey man thanks, it's just one plant btw.

Update for day 16 , things are going really good, this plant is making me very happy. Definitely found a winner with white label NL. Haven't fed it yet as the all-mix comes with a few weeks worth of nutes in it, so all in all i've watered this plant with tap water, about 3 times in 16 days. When growing weed, I am learning to my benefit ,less is more within reason. Don't over water ,don't over feed and things go a lot better! I made the noob error of feeding my C99 at this stage ,and there I was wondering why it was struggling lol, I think I'm doing it better this time around.

Gonna have to give Cindy another run with a bit more experience under my belt and she'll maybe not die so bad on me.. who knows, maybe all those late flower issues were a result of overfeeding.. Going to try my hardest to "read the plant" this time and just give it enough to be healthy instead of pumping it with food when it's not needed. Yes, with organic food it's a lot harder to burn your plants and thats why my cindy looked great for a while, but there is going to be tipping point that will lead to lockout and/or root burning..that's my theory anyway.

Another day in the life of my awesome closet. She grew a full inch since yesterday and is 5.5 inches with 7 nodes

Anyone have any input when i should flower this thing, The white label site says it's a compact plant but soo many people say it stretches like crazy .I can only let it get to 3.5 feet.

option a, flower it now ( on a semi related note on sagarmatha's website he advises to flower his Nl dominant strains at 4- 7 nodes)

option b, grow it to a foot tall and bend over the main stem during the stretch phase..

suggestions?

I let my uncut plant grow to around 15-16 inches and it now stands 26 inches tall 3 weeks into flowering. I would say not to let it go past 12 inches if you only have 3.5 feet of grow room just to be on the safe side. My Northern Lights uncut is growing fairly rapidly so I am sure your genetics will probably do the same. Plant is looking awesome though for sure!!!

Thanks man.. Actually I might gamble and flower it now ... a 2 feet plant can still have a few zips on it..which is what i'm after. Would just hate to see it double in size to 1 foot or so.. then it would be a waste but i don't think it will do that. Plus sagarmatha is a big name in growing so his suggestions are worth something...

Unless you've heard that this NL strain doesn't like it you can top at the 5th or 6th node then let her veg to 12". That will stunt her vertical growth by promoting multiple mains (2/4). Of course that means delayed gratification but if you're not in a rush...

Ob BTW, she is a one pretty girl!

I wouldn't go much past 12 inches tall if it were me. That's if your plant (soil to tops) can be 3.5 feet tall. Are you including the pot in the 3.5 feet?

With a 250 watt hps I would suggest LST or topping to keep an even canopy.

While topping may appear to halt your vertical growth, it is really just letting the secondary branches catch up in growth. Root growth is still occurring. Your plant looks very healthy too so it should handle topping well.

My NL handled the top well. I topped her and she was in veg for about a month and half. I lsted the secondary branches. She stopped stretching at about 2ft.

She would of been a big yeilder but I got preggers and got emotional and scrapped the plant. lol Stupid me.

Being an indica, I was going to say that it wouldn't stretch nearly as much as the Cindy and to veg longer. After reading the posts from those that have run NL, I'm not sure now. I always thought that you let an indica veg a lot more before flipping. :?

Looks good mate. Just to let you know i was weaving my NL for a few days into flower and it stretched about 6 inches when i let her go. Right now she is 16 inches from the base of the plant to the tallest stem. That being said i dont think the stretch has stopped yet

Id either top it and let it grow a bit or keep growing and start training ger over now while she still has a semi pliable stem :)
