Proper Ventilation for 2 1000watt cooltubes ??

Just wondering if a 475 cfm fan is good enough to pull air cooling off for 2 1000watt cooltubes and a carbon filter in a 8x8 growing room. The carbon filter is rated for like 300-400 cfm but there will be some drag and minor bend in the ductings ofcourse.

you would have better success with a 500CFM+ running a closed lighting system where you have your light ducting attached to a cool intake and running a fan and filter for your room seperately. that way your lights do not suck any smelly air through them.

I was gonna put thing in this order:

Air duct from window---> a y splitter into the aircooled hoods-->> carbon filter---->>> inline fan 475 cfm to window out.

I was thinking that way the fan pulls the air through the carbon filter and its after the lights so they get clean air first

you dont want to suck air past your lights you should blow it so your not sucking hot air threw your fan making it run hot and want to burn out

go filter fan then threw tubes and out

I think im gonna have to get 2 fans .. one for blowing air threw lights and one for the carbon filter
you only need 2 fans if you are doing two different duct systems(only do this if you want to do a sealed room or are worried about hotspots apearing outside your house). If you place a 500cfm fan in front of your grow lights (attached to your carbon filter) then you'll be fine the fan in front will continue to blow air through, i think you guys just need to get your hands on the equipment and start building to really get a hang of this.

Also don't listen to the kid who said to do separate systems "to keep the smelly air from going by the lights" isn't thinking, if you attatch a carbon filter to the fan you'll be set for smell...

Id buy a Grow Bright 8" High Velocity Inline Fan(590cfm $128) from www.HTGSupply.com or buy a squirl cage fan/blower like the one I use is a ActiveAir blower system 465cfm $109 htgsupply.com, this is the one I have and it pulls all the heat off my two EasyCool 6 w/ 600w bulbs in them and I use it to pull the air out also and I pull my "smelly" air past my lights and it has never seemed to be a problem, I placed a fliter at the front of my first light to keeps bugs and shit from being suck into my lights.
