You'd think so, but there is a point to where it is better to run the LEDs softer than harder. Proper canopy management eliminates the need to have to punch through like that. Grow for the style of lights you have. If you're going to use LED, go the extra mile to work on expanding the canopy outwards as opposed to upwards.

Here are my 6 Grape Stomper OG, mainlined (with some experimentation) ready to transplant into 10s. I'm hoping to pull around 3lbs, an Oz on each growth tip, 8 tips per plant. I may not hit those numbers, but if I do, by my calculation that'd be around 2 GPW. 20151006_102314.jpg

Often grow very bushy plants that fill the room but don't let the canopy get too dence so the light can still penetrate deep in the canopy ,(lst, topping and thinning out the canopy), I have been doing this as a perpetul grower for the last 10 years with about 50 crops under my belt

short wide bushy plants is the best way to grow under any light anless your doing a vertcal grow, every light can only penetrate the canopy so far ( maximum 3 ft )

even with scrog you get the shoots to grow as high as the light can penetrate the canopy to get the best yeild

Some of my close confidants believe in keeping the canopy no more than 18-24 inches, and skirting up anything under that. I'll be very judicious on this run.

I have only flowered with 600w mh,hps and my cola's get 18" long, never grown under 1000w hps light but 24" sounds about right ( following the hps chart)
and I was thinking the 1000w gavita lights turned up to 1150w could give you 3ft as the double ended bulb and there more effective than standed hps

but yer, I don't like growing plants more than 2ft high in flower

Knowing what I do now, the only way I'd ever run HPS is with the vertical techniques, but that's just my opinion.

With a china mans hat, you could always do a stadium V type of canopy as well.

I'm going to run a room that employs Vert here within the next year, just to try it out. I've got a couple people in my circle that swear by it, especially if you're trying to maximize canopy area within a small room. It also eliminates a couple of my biggest HID complaints such as significant photon scatter, and allowing the bulb to be air cooled by the circulation probably helps a good bit as well.

Opticgrowlights (877)958-2199 sales/support until the site/email back up.
They did say on there website 2weeksago that ownership was changing and site/email could be down and to call if someone needed something.

IMO, that's a decent light, but you overpaid to cover a 2x2.5

You could build a COB fixture that would cost around $500 and probably have very similar results while being more efficient.

Also, I believe that's a bit bigger fixture than you need for your space.

Yes, to what HockeyBeard said and as for reliable diode companies, I have had the best luck with CREE
