I will take the experience of actually growing the strain over your hundred links. Have you ever heard of different Pheno-types? There's a cherry Ak, a Cherry-lime AK-47. Most people, like me, when I popped my 10 pack, looked for the fastest flowering of the bunch and kept that as a mother. Mine finishes right at 45-48 days, every single time. You can't tell me what's happening in my garden, I can see it.

Are we really arguing over 6 days here? All your links say 53- and we are saying 47. Believe me, there are phenos that finish in 47 just as I'm sure there are other phenos that finish in 53 or more.

I don't know how this is hard for you to understand
Wait, pheno types? What are those? The discussion is not about if it can finish at day 47, it's that AK47 is not an acronym for Afghan-Kush and 47 days isn't the norm. I just bred two AK's together and got 84 beans, I'm sure I can find a pheno that goes 80 days. Should the name be changed to AK80?

I already explained that to him. Homebrewer believes it is a dominant sativa and believes everything he reads on the web despite serious seeds themselves admitting the genetics are a secret. Dis information is a good way of keeping a secret.

it's called AK47 because it can be taken at 47 days. they might have done a little breeding with their afghani kush, but their aim was clearly to recreate the same afghan kush strain they started with. else why call it afghan kush? it has all of these other supposed genetics in it yet they chose to call it afghan kush. afghan kush is a landrace strain, known for quick finishing. AK47 stands for Afghan Kush 47, a double entendre in that it hits like a machine gun and can also be taken at 47 days. In fact i remember when serious were first talking about this strain and they wanted to distance themselves away from the kalshnikov, and even themselves said it was named so because it can be taken at just 47 days flower.

I just emailed serious seeds and asked them specifically about the name, but that won't be enough for you guys. I'll post the response when I get it. Until then, everyone needs to believe the urban Dictionary which in the description of the strain, uses the word 'wigger'. Sounds reputable enough for RUI.

I bet you dimes to dollars you won't find a pheno that takes 80 days to finish from an Afghani kush. You can keep it alive that long but it will never take that long to finish, period.

it's called AK-47 because it hits you like a bullet from an AK-47. the original "one-hit-wonder".

it always has been.

shall we move on to the definition of "OG" Kush now? lolololololol

Being that it's 2/3rds sativa, I will bet you those dimes and dollars. Again, it's said to be Afghani, not afghan kush.

what are you on about now, lol?

Serious Seeds stole the name... every European knows that AK stands for Afghan Kush and that it flowers in 47 days. People used to talk about AK a long time before serious seeds thought of it... it was a well used slang... AK (Afghan, or even Afghani Kush depending on how you prefer to abbreviate). So Serious Seeds simply jumped on a catchphrase already in use. Much like soma did when he stole Sour Diesel and Big Buddha when he stole cheese.

You just need a good memory...

Only after gaining recognition do serious seeds start making extraordinary claims as to what's in the genetics. a poor attempt to keep people guessing... but the crux of AK47 will always be Afghan (or Afghani lol) Kush. You could get any Afghan Kush strain and it would be the same if not even better than AK47. The rest is just hype.

How are you still blind to the fact that AK47 is made up of an afghani and 3 sativas? Comparing a near pure indica to a sativa hybrid and saying they would be the same is just, plain, ig-nor-ance. You've posted not one reputable link to back your claims which is what you always do, post before you know what you're talking about. I've posted several reputable links. My next post in this thread will be the email I get back from Serious Seeds. Until then, I'm unsubscribed as this is actually getting annoying.

And why are you still blind to the fact that it's called Afghan Kush 47? also still blind to the fact that they're keeping the pedigree a secret?

i know what i'm talking about as i sold AK weed before serious seeds thought of it. it was famous before serious seeds came along and ripped it off. Pretty soon all you could get was the serious seeds version. Nobody bothered with the landrace any more, prized genetics... it's available in seed form, so much easier to buy a pack of beans than make the right connects and get an original Afghan Kush clone.

Links are for suckers... every link you've posted comes from somebody trying to sell something, we all know how you can trust a salesman right?
