Colorado Biz March 2010 magazine has an article that states that Dana May aka Professor Marijuana, can successfully cultivate cannabis in 43 days - which typically takes 4 to 4 months." Anyone know how he does it?

Yes^ and most likely hydroponic growth and early finishing strain like top 44 which finishes in 44 days.

Hello to you too Green Sister, I take from your post that my responding to this was a bad thing. The Medical Marijuana/Recreational community is a funny thing to me. How dare I respond to a post regarding me? Shameful. Perhaps before sitting in judgement of others you should research a little bit about them. I suspect you didn"t in this case, so if I may I'd like to introduce myself.
As stated I have been cultivating this magical herb for 43 years now (I wonder your age), not just growing but studying it. I expect each grow to be better than the last. I am a MM patient in CO and was raided by the DEA in 2004 despite being legal. Simply because they disrespected I decided to fight them. Against all sound legal advice I took the fight to them, as a result I became the first person in U.S. history to have cannabis growing equipment returned by the federal government. The attorney (Rob Corry) handled my case pro-bono. Since then I have been qualified as an Litigation Certified Expert Witness in both marijuana cultivation and medical marijuana, every case I have done has been done pro-bono as payment back to my brothers and sisters who have the balls (sorry sisters) to stand up and fight. Several have been precedent setting as was mine. In the 43 years I have been growing I have NEVER sold a single gram of cannabis but rather given it to those less fortunate than I. I am a writer for two magazines, Cannabis Health News Magazine and post420 both of these I do unpaid. I have been asked to write the growing protocol for a national medical marijuana law, unpaid. Last month I was keynote speaker at the Sacred Herb Festival, as I will be at the Rocky Mountain Cannabis Convention and Wellness Expo and will speak at the worlds largest cannabis convention Hempfest Seattle all at my own expense. If you google my name you'll see a article titled "Professor Marijuana Overgrows Venue" where 200 people spent the day being educated about growing. Free? Nope $250 per head, my profit? $200. So my income? $1,200 a month disability and whatever I can earn consulting. I feel compelled to take the knowledge gained over nearly a half a century growing and sharing it with others. I've made every mistake you can make, so why should you? Fighting for whats right and compassion are just in my family blood. Point in Case, and fuel for your response:-) My Great,G,G,G,Grandfather John Sever was the first and longest serving Govonor of Tenesee, appointed by G Washington to the first Congressional Order. He was a soldier and a hemp farmer that lived to the age of 100. That's where the fight comes from. The compassion from my great Aunt who is Americas only Saint, Mother Cabrini. She helped heal with water that still flows from a spring 20 miles from the spot I grow cannabis to help heal. In my younger days I was a drummer doing session work, with many people. Pink Floyd, Elton John, Heart, Joe Cocker, etc etc. So there you go, nice to meet you.

Yes I can and do grow in 45 days, I produce up to 10 pounds of medical grade cannabis in a 30 square foot area, 8 crops a year, but then I've been doing it for 43 years. If you come to the RMCC I'll show you how.

The people of my generation let you all down, we turned into our parents, please forgive me. But instead of finding the bad in someone you have never met why don't we try and unite and put an end to this insanity called "reefer madness." Toss back a bone to those who are less fortunate it will come back to you, and DAMNIT vote for marijuana laws people.

Green Sister, forgive my outburst but the negetive side of this world drives me nuts. Once you get a name you become a target instead of a resource. If I can ever help www.professormarijuana.com. All of this was simply to plug my site:-) Much Love ProfMj

i'm interested.... i know you can do this type of thing using cell culture techniques.

any other way of rushing the process during normal growth always results in poor yields. light starvation, shading etc, etc...

You got my interest, but as said your site will not load.

Would you care to elaborate on your process rather than just claim that you can do as you said? Or are you not so magnanimous and philanthropic that you would share your secrets with others who could greatly benefit from them and instead would only sell people your secret-squirrel information on say, a website or maybe a pay-to-play seminar?

Hello again, I will spend a few moments and see if I can answer some questions, in particular though I will address Mr. Brick Top. It apprears from your message you are a man of superior intelligence and possess an impressive vocabulary. By simple observation it appears your glasses are in working order so, I must admit I sat with my vaporizor and pondered (I love pondering) why it is your comprehension does not seem to match your intelect?

I will make the assumption you read the whole of the text and must certainly assertained that the vast majority of my work has been done at no charge. I am under the impression however that after studying this herb for nearly half a century it would somehow be going against protocol if I were to attempt to feed my family with the wisdom gained. Always one of two things, you're a "big shot" if you have gained more knowledge than the grower next to you, or, "You make a living from that knowledge." Quite alright for Mr Rosenthal to sell a book, but not me.

I do in fact charge for my consulting work, $10,000 retainer plus $250.00 an hour for commercial growers and anywhere from $0 to $5,000 for private cultivator's depending on their financial situation. The moral to that little story is "pay attention to what you're doing kids because it pays very well." That was meant in a lighthearted fashion just in case you don't know that the Professor is a bit of a smart ass that always has a smile. Hell, why wouldn't I seeing how I have a waiting list of commercial growers:-)

The pondering, emmmmm, I was trying to figure out just how much cannabis I have grown, and donated, over these last 43 years. In the end a gross weight eluded me but I can say it has been a shitload, trucks and trucks, and at least one plane:-)

I will be selling a dvd, and it will be expensive. A few tips and thoughts I have on growing though, always ask why you're growing because strain plays an enormous roll in the size of yield. Are you a cash cropper? if so grow Indica's, bigger yield and shorter flowering, a good combo if you ask me. Vegging is a waste of time, how many Metal Halides do I have in all my grow facilities? None. Follow along Brick Top, Where does the vast majority of your yield come from? Answer: the top third of the plant. So why grow the bottom two thirds? Ponder that. Three things that directly effect yield 1. Strain 2. Amount of light (never to much) 3. Size of root ball.

To seperate yourself from other growers remember this, GIVE THE PLANT WHAT IT WANTS, IN THE AMOUNT IT WANTS, WHEN IT WANTS IT. Don't be cheap, do it right or don't do it at all, keep your mouth shut, KISS, and toss back a bone to those less forunate it will pay off in spades.

Website is down due to our hosting company being idiots. Should be up in a day or two, and I try and answer all direct questions, not global ones Brick when time allows. FREE

Also, everyones an expert today. I sit smile and listen. Then say "SHOW ME YOUR WORK" go to DANA K MAY on facebook and see the largest bud ever.

Thanks for letting me poke fun at you Brick, look nice enough. ProfMj

Subbed as well.

ProfMj,

I respectfully request some of your knowledge. I have a small grow with a few mother plants and a flowering room. Once the clones have rooted would it be ok to put them into the flowering room? The flower room has a 600w HPS light. This is my first attempt at a SoG and I was wondering this since you said it's pretty pointless to veg. I was originally going to veg the clones for 2 weeks before putting them in the flowering room. Thank you for your time and concern in this matter.

Peace and positive energy to you

43bud.jpgVERY OLD pic of a bud done in 43 days. I have tried to answer twice now and have timed out or something so I will return tomorrow with your SOG answer. Don't get much free time, 1:30AM here right now if that says anything. So just dream of a shitload of those in your SOG and that should cheer you up.
Need to go sing to the girls still, oh yeah, I'm a hippie again so add a foot to the hair:-). Try and get you in the morning my friend. ProfMj

hey dana can u reccomend a very high yeilding strain ? and can u also tell me if an average flower cycle is 8 weeks = 60 days , how do u manage to get a harvest in even less then that? because a mj plant cant yeild but until its mature enuff which is atleast 2 weeks that + bloom .. soo im stumped.

everything he's just said is what SoG growers have been saying for years already... for free. Harvest a heavily Afghani influenced strain for 6 weeks with no veg. Only to account for the smaller plants you must increase the plant count.

I know of a grower that grows 70 plants beneath a 600w.
