Mixed up how? If I don't vote than it's not ME who put these people in power. Let me think for a sec. - If I were to vote for say whoever & they did something I didn't approve of what exactly would entitle me to complain? I mean I did pick them right.

naw, that's not how it works. if you're not involved in the process (voting) then you can't bitch about it because you didn't participate. i think most people (not everyone) don't vote because they're just too damn lazy, or don't care. this is why we're in this mess. people just say "fuck it, it's hopeless, politicians are all liars and cheaters." that's a cop out.

I don't believe it's a cop out when that's how you feel. I think we are in this mess for many other reasons besides not voting. I personally don't need a politician to direct my life.

Hell, if it wasn't for Harry Anslinger and the rest of the faggots in government (namely repubs) who pushed lies and propaganda on the US public to promote racist policies, there would be no restrictions on weed today! And what makes me even more upset is that these same bastards (Regan and co) then go around and import far more dangerous drugs (with the help of the columbians) to raise funds to fight illegal wars! (Insert Iran Contra affair)

In the end, the best person for America right now is Ron Paul. He is truly the only man in politics that has the average American citizen's intrest at heart. EVERY other politician is simply a tool of someone else to protect their intrest. Nothing else.

Very true. Just look at the numbers, more people would rather not vote instead of trying to change. Voting isn't THAT hard. And then they still want to bitch. Its almost like they WANT it this way. Like some sort of self torture.

Come on folks, if you are frustrated then let your vote be your voice. If we all voted things would be a lot different. Hell, the politicos don't want us voting because they know that the less people vote the more secure their seat is. We need to scare them with our vote.

What are you talking about? That's backwards. If the Gov't wanted more people to vote election day would be on a Sat. They don't want us to vote so they can control power. We have the power in numbers and with our vote. That's ALL we have and the Politicos KNOW that.

Here's the truth:

Until the inclusion of marijuana in the Uniform Narcotic Drug Act in 1932 and the passage of the Marijuana Tax Act in 1937, there was no "national" public policy regarding marijuana.

Franklin Roosevelt (Democrat) was the president in 1937. The (federal) Marijuana Tax Act was written into law by a Democrat congress and senate and FDR signed it.

The 1936 congressional elections had produced a Senate with the lopsided party ratio of 76 Democrats to 16 Republicans.

The party divisions in the Congress looked like this: 334 Democrats, 88 Republicans, 8 Progressives and 5 Farmer-Labor.

Commissioner Anslinger, working under the authority of the Roosevelt Administration with the Federal Bureau of Narcotics testified in a Senate hearing in 1937 regarding marijuana. Here's the record of that hearing:
