I have the same question. If your growing in soil and using organic nutes like Bontanicare bloom and say Sweet? Do you continue to use Sweet through the last 2 weeks of flushing till harvest? Or is it just plain water and cal meg for the last 2 weeks?

i read a few things about flushing organic systems but i have some questions also. i read that you were supposed to give the plants one regular dose of water, then wait for that to be absorbed before giving the plants a gallon of water each, obviously letting it drain out the bottom. they also mentioned that organic growers should repeat that process 24 hours before harvest. my questions are about the time in between. how much water are they given during that period? just continue regularly? and what will be the difference in the end result between plain tap water plants and those given the molasses? does the pH of the water matter during those 2 weeks? parden my newbie questions, im about 4 weeks into my first grow and hope to get pics up soon

Flushing is not nescessary and may effect yields.

Adding the option do you use your normal feeding formula or do you trim it down to 25% strength might garner more votes on your poll.

Molasses is used to feed the organisms in the soil,

I tend to start around 10 days out with a clean ph'd flush, another 4 days later & then no water after that - it helps with the drying process if the plants have used up most of the moisture in the soil and are somewhat dehydrated.

I have been depriving them of light for the last 36 hours and have noticed a marked improvement in potency.
BTW, flushing if anything makes your yield better tasting, has nothing to do with quantity as the buds are fully formed by this time.

Lastly, this from Ohsogreen that I intend to try soon.

How about an old trick.... that's cheap & works......
.
Take 1/2 a can of frozen juice concentrate (flavor or your choice) grape, apple, pineapple, or even the pina colada mix - add to two gallons of unchlorinated water, add one ounce of SPT, or a sock with a handful of well aged compost. Bubble for two days, then give each girl one quart of this mix, via the root zone.
.
This must be done, three days before the finish / harvest. Do not water afterwards (or add to the reservoir), to ensure maximum flavor is absorbed.

You are saying that bud does not gain weight once the flowers are fully formed? I disagree strongly, resin production continues once buds are fully formed, that resin has considerable weight which equals greater yields.

If fed properly bud does not need to be flushed. Al B Fuct and a ton of other growers on these boards don't flush because they know what they are doing.

Pretty sure Ohsogreen doesn't flush either,

Flushing is not needed of course, but flushing is good to get cleaner burning budds, im asuming you dont flush and your probably in your own way defending yourself.

Just a little advise - listen to "the king of cannibus: Arjan!

You can see some of his videos if you like on youtube

Your contention is that flushing (leaching) reduces yield? That is not a rational statement and I must stand by my original statement, that flushing will not affect the quantity of your harvest, just the quality. The buds don't quit swelling just because you are flushing, they are just forced to consume excess nutrients already in the plant.
Arjin, Cervantes and a plethora of published professionals agree that this is so. Can you shore-up your statement that leaching reduces harvest with facts?
I'll wait.

i agree flushing a very important for clean burning, quality herb but im not too down with the self proclaimed king of cannabis.
Nor am I, but I seriously doubt he (they) make these statements willy-nilly. I'm confident they consult with many professional growers at the top of their game (just judging by the photography alone) while working on their various publications and it would be nonsensical to believe otherwise.
I'm always open to debunking myths, but I'll wait for more facts. Until then I'll continue to flush & enjoy clean tasty herb.

Why flush, especially with organics? I'm running my system all the way to harvest @ 1300ppm with none organic nutes, no rez changes and no flushing. I bet you by the time everything is dried and cured no one can tell a difference. Properly dried and cured bud will always taste and burn just fine.

argh.... King of cannabis... hahahaha
anyone who claims to be the king of cannabis can only be the king of ... hermaphroditis.... haha
whatever... i dont trust arjan and marco all that much... the boys from green house are extremely commercial and love to make videos boasting this and that... but ive smoked arjans strawberry haze... bought in greenhouse effect and i was not amazed... their lemon haze which won the cup ... was good during the cup period... any other time ive bought it, it tasted and felt identical to soma"s amnesia haze .....just not organic... !!
On the other hand, you could listen to the advice given from doctors in agronomy, like jorge cervantes or ed rosenthal.... but arjan and marco are just good growers trying to do what we all do, grow fantastic ganja.....
Soma has won a few prizes by now but you rarely hear of him boasting it on videos etc... he has a book out which describes his way of growing...... check it out...
but when it comes to learning dont take everything these famous growers say for granted....
read up, and learn.... peace out

I wont argue because it's a subject that will be debated forever and it's a personal choice.

But I know my outside plants that were 100% organic and my indoor plants that were inorganic from the same mothers... Both tasted the same and burned clean, I couldn't tell which one was which. And that black tar left over in my pipe is called resin.

Leaching and flushing are not the same thing. Leaching is done with 25% strength .
Excess nutrients are not really a factor with Organics when you are experienced.

I have flushed leached and gone full schedule. No substitute for experience GWN.

Hyrdoponic growers that overload with nutrients yes please flush away.

If you're going to quote me then you should get it correct. Again, I do not support the argument that either flushing or leaching reduces quantity.
I have yet to see any facts that refute that.

BTW, "Leach: to dissolve or wash out soluble components of soil by heavy watering." (Indoor/outdoor med grow bible). If you look up flushing you are directed to "leaching".

Notice the quotation marks around your words that I cut and pasted. the reason being is THEY ARE YOUR WORDS.

Do not quote from a book for novices that makes no mention of organic growing and expect to have a serious discussion.

Field test and you will have all the facts you need.

I recommend you take that book, tear it to shreds and add to your compost pile.
