Not true!!

O pop seeds are available in many locales in the US and the seed is legal to possess in the USA...it's the HARVESTING OF THE POD (scraping or collecting) that is ILLEGAL.

Folks...nothing you'll find at WAlly's or Casa De Pot will be the *right* seeds...no hens and chicks..no icelanics..no californias...no orientals...

you'll have to go online and search...or go to ebay like fdd said to do.

and dammit..STFU if you haven't sourced these seeds or grown the plant!

seeds are widely available at walmart at resturant supply store and at health food stores...if that was not possible how did the kid that bought seeds and made tea died? because they were NOT "treated" he had consumed to much opium and overdosed

have you ever tried to grow mccormick seeds?foaf has they are opium poppies

You guys should just stick to weed, is much healthier and less addictive :)
And no one has ever died from weed, unlike Opium.

I've tried it a few times, I dunno, maybe it just wasn't for me :)

YOU PEOPLE ARE JUST NOT GOING TO BE HAPPY TILL YOU ALERT THE gov. , AND THEY START A WAR ON POPPIES, HELL WE HAVE POPPY GROWERS ALL OVER THIS TOWN , SOME OF THE FINEST OLD MANSIONS IN TOWN HAVE FABULOUS GARDENS , POPPIES ALL OVER THE DAMED PLACE.

I did my share of taking silly things when I was younger. I enjoyed it then probably because I was naive and didnt realise what it was going to do to me in the long run.. but I'm feeling it now :P The ol' memory aint as good as it was, and my skin and body sure as hell could'a done without all that crap! Haha. I have nothing against the use of hallucigenics or other forms of drugs.. IN REASONABLE DOSES! I've seen way too many people get fucked up, and have their lives ruined because of drugs. It's not nice.. for friends, family and the person in question.

BE RESPONSIBLE!
Smoke pot instead!!!

you can use hens and chicks to produce the juice of the poppy as well as a number of others... they just name it different so as not to associate it with opium... read opium for the masses if your interested in opium. I dont know if they still do it but you used to be able to buy the dried seed pods and make opium tea with them. <<< be careful if you do this and start with just a little you dont want to overdose. also almost any good garden seed company sells the seeds, I get mine from parks seed company.

the bagels have poppy SEEDS on them. But you could throw them in the ground and get poppy plants from it which if you took the opium from and knew the process of making it you could make heroin....Although I dont know how good the plants would grow from a poppy seed you buy at grocery store.

when a plant has matured and its got a big seed pod you gently cut or scratch it and a milky white substance will come out you let that set on the plant for the rest of the day then scrape it off(it will turn black) and you have opium... then if you refined that you could get any number of opium based drugs like morphine or heroin. Actually if you just smoke the opium the ash of that will have morphine in it because morphine doesnt burn or at least at the temp that the opium would burn and you could put the ash <<<(youll probably need quite a bit) in a glass of water and use that for what you will...just test it small amounts at a time so you don't overdose. there is lots of info on this if you just look around bit.
