Pollen for Sale?

Hey Guys, here's one of those ideas that flew in while "medicated", but so far seems reasonable and appealing after several days of kicking it around and checking the Internet. It would be a "D.I.Y., single Bud, Pollinating System". Many times I've have a lovely big girl, too far into flower for cloning, that I would like to make some seed just on one bud or cola.
Or, maybe just have some fun mixing up some new strains.
The thing is, my little grow-op just doesn't allow for the production of "studs" ! So, I'm thinking that some enterprising person with right setup, could start growing "High-Grade" strain specific males for their pollen. Then produce a single bud/cola condom like container with the pollen in the "reservoir tip", to be released when open end is secured.
And Viola! In a month or so you have some nice fresh seed of Known genetics, grown in YOUR environment.
If the Attitude were to make something like this available, say with 10/15 strains, I'd buy in a heart beat!
So there it is, my little pipe dream, LOL, no pun intended.
I will now suck down about 4 or 5 consecutive bowels of Thai S.S.
and await what comes, Good luck & good grow.......BBbongsmilie

except then maybe theyd loose seed sells, but we wont tell them that.
Well good observation. But then again, it could possibly promote sales, by folks wanting new strains of seeds to cross with the new pollens available. What with Busts, crop failures, fires, floods, bugs and ALL the shit that comes at you in life, SEEDS are not forever!
No da, I don't think the big legitimate seed banks would see selling pollen as negatively impacting their bottom line, rather I think they would jump at a chance to make even more money. GL & GG......BB

Well, maybe this WAS just another lame "Bud Dream". So I'm thinking this thread can just sink down into that cesspool of forgotten BS.
But, if by chance, maybe, just maybe this silly assed idea turns up as someones commercial venture sometime in the future, It WILL be my extreme pleasure to float this turd of a thread back to the top of the forums punch bowel, as a spot on prediction...BB

I'm pretty sure once more US states legalize, it will be so...people wont wanna grow males just for pollen, so they'll order it online from you...

Backyard breeders aren't a good thing. Some stuff is best left to the professionals!
You seem to infer that I have some notion of commercialy producing seed for public consumption, if my interpretation of "Backyard Breeder" is correct.
I want a few of my own "native" seeds for personal use. It isn't ALWAYS about money.....BB

foreal. what kind of logic is that guy useing? how could people makeing their own seeds hurt anything? its not like its going to damage the genetics that are already out there.

I think he thought I had ideas that we could ALL become seed breeders with commercial intents. But no, nothing further from my mind.
As said above, I like "Native" seed. Example: I have 13 strains in my grow this year. 11 are well known commercial, Blue Venom, G13 Haze, & Ratta ratta... (see journal), 2 of my girls are "native", ( a male Thai Super Skunk pollinated a Diesel and a Super Skunk in my grow last year). One I call "Skunky Thai Skunky" or STS, the other is "Skunky Thai Diesel" or STD. They are hands down the 2 MOST vigorous vegging girls out there! Why?, I believe it's because their Mom's & Dad were germed, vegged, and conceived them in this location. I would like to breed a few more times to check my theory, but I'm sure native is best as long as you are growing in the same geographical location and conditions.......BB

Like I said. Lets start a business....
Hey Kron, Thanks for your enthusiasm! LOL, if I were 10 years younger.................
These days, the ideas come, but the old "bod" says "Fogitaboutit!! I'm not going there". But, I would be very pleased to see some enterprising "young blood" take this and run with it. Who knows, maybe one of the European or Canadian breeders may pick up on this and give it a shot!! Till then, Good luck & good grow.......BB

It is a good idea but don't expect the breeders to do that because of losing seed sales. I just hand pollinated another of my MTF autos this week and she's already getting really puffy. I had a really nice looking girl that I chose to give me my next batch of seed so I dusted her ass really good; now she's got bud/seed about 2" in diameter almost all the way up. I had 3 nice males that I grew off (a safe distance from the girls) and when they were mature, I chopped them and harvested the pollen. I mixed some fine flour with the pollen with a 2:1 ratio (roughly) and keep it in a 35mm film canister and apply it with a dry, sable artists' brush.
