Political Compass test

Like I said, I'm not ashamed of this result... And if you were to go look at Vi's, I'm at the same level of authoritarianism as he. I'm as Far left as he is right according to the political scale.

I am not ashamed of being on the left side of the equasion, and nor should I be ashamed of where I stand politically. I will say that I'm not as far left as you may think though.
And you shouldn't be ashamed, Dank. Not at all. What I have a little problem understanding though, is how libertarians can be to the left of center. Libertarianism is about less government intrusion in our lives. That would include reducing government's taxing authority and welfare statism that's attached to that taxation. If one is going to be a "leftist" Libertarian, isn't that kind of like being, what Bush calls, a "Compassionate Conservative?"

Tell me what I'm missing here.

Ahh, I see where the problem is. You are misinterpreting the graph. The authoritarian part is on the top. The Libertarian side is on the bottom. Your "score" doesn't make you an authoritarian at all, Dank. Quite the opposite, as a matter of fact.

My suspicion is that Med would be on the extreme left side, right at the very top of the graph where all the Nazis would be.

There was some stuff that I felt was kinda vague, but I tend to over analyze these sort of things. Like:

"Charity is better than social security as a means of helping the genuinely disadvantaged."
Charity as a virtue? Absolutely not. No one puts enough money in a hobo's cup for him to live a decent life. In comparison to Social Security, charity as a virtue SUCKS.

Charity as in organizations? Absolutely. There are charities that donate business suits to people so that they can go to an interview looking nice and spiffy. Charities that give people new prosthetic limbs that they never could have afforded otherwise. In comparison to Social Security, Charity as an organization ROCKS.

I figured they meant organization, and went that way. But the results came out about right for me. I'm a bit libertarian, but I like the government to have enough power to put the smack down on the bad guys who make their way to power through money, and organize things that are hard to do on the grassroots level.

Lulz, I guess I'm meant for the middle.

Not at all.
I don't like the Government telling me what I can do in the confines of my own house.
Where we differ is how we should approach of dealing with the problems with in our society.

I think the 'left libertarian' probably is a result of the homosexual questions...
Probably the same here. The homo questions were a couple of the few I answered 'Strongly' for. Little gray areas in my logic really keeps me from being extremely anything.

DankDude, how do we differ? I'm not exactly a bleeding heart when it comes to 'unfortunate' people. It was my impression that you lie in that direction as well?

The idea that Libertarians can also have a "social conscience", and that some of us have been disillusioned enough by corporate behavior and effects to understand that we actually need government oversight. :)

That's my take on it, anyway.

That's where you would be wrong... I could care less about the homosexual questions and gay issues. They really don't effect my life. I do believe that they should have the same rights as straight people in every facet of life. (same goes for everyone else)
But I do think that if someone lives a certain lifestyle, they should keep it to themselves and not push it off on others.

My thinking is on More corporate oversight. Corporations have had more and more tax breaks and less regulation and yet they still want more and more their way, and lack a social conscience.

I actually answered very few of the questions as strongly for or strongly against.

Like I said before, Government shouldn't be able to tell me what I can do with in the confines of my own home or what I can do with my personal life.

I'm a Civil Libertarian.

Please watch all of them from beginning to end when you have time. You can really learn a lot from watching these, I know I did.

At first, I thought these "conspiracy "theories"" were just "conspiracy "theories"" too. I only knew what they told me via school and TV, for the most part until I started doing independent research.

Watch these! Over ~95% of it is fact and the other ~5% is educated speculation.

Who do you believe?

About WW3....... After you educate yourself with these links you can clearly see that the media and gov't are sleeping together. You should also be aware that the media is trying to make us hate Iran (just like Iraq) by telling us all this BS propaganda. The MainsStream Media is owned by Zionist Jews and hence the wars in the middle east because of difference in religion and corrupt politics.

Still no Med.

I predict Med will be in the extreme upper left hand corner of the graph ... right next to Hitler, Stalin, Mao and Pol Pot.
