Police: Pot might be factor in Montana killing

I would not have to guess if I had a trap set, and was staring at your image on cctv.
So, if we all set traps and handled burglars this way, it would pretty much stop people from robbing homes.

I'm having a hard time seeing the bad in any of this. Burglar is dead, home owner has a proven way of protecting his home, others could learn from this, including would be burglars.

That it is clear that some people here who are prone to particular political dispositions value property more than life.
Oh see, I never gave a shit why he was there. Just the fact that he broke the threshold uninvited, is reason enough.

Im not arguing property over life. Life is always of more value than some materialistic bullshit.

Property is more valuable than life to all home intruders. They know the risks, yet do it anyway.
Exactly, they put themselves out there and I have to assume they would be willing to do the same to myself and others in the home.

I would feel almost obligated to do it. If they get away, they are just gonna do it to someone else. What if those people can't defend themselves? Fuck that, you break threshold, you just put your life in someone else's hands.

Fuck me, do I need to say it through an LRAD pointed at your face?
I don't care about what you think.

I made a comment and have been defending it.

You addressed me with your opinion that I never cared about.

MY POINT is that some people who have a particular disposition, value property over life. You are one of those.

Maybe, and if so, fair point. However I think that in this case it was just a dumb ass German exchange student. Did he deserve to die? I'm not sure I'm qualified to say. I'm just saying that there is a pattern of people who think a certain way having less respect for life than property.

When i was in high school this lady talked to my class about when her home was broken into. She was home sick when some local kids went house hopping mid day with a .22 as their choice of protection, in case they ran into anyone apprehensive to give them their things. She was laying asleep on her couch when they put to hollow points through her. One through the neck and one at the top of her skull. She somehow survived, they stole some jewlery and her car which they later torched. They are both serving life right now and she is paralyzed and mostly blind, i think they got the better end of that deal....

Now with this kid it is a flip scenario of homeowner had a gun and caugh the kid. Should he have just started blastin before identifying, probably not since for all he knows could have been a drunk neighbor coming home from the bar getting mixed up with houses. But he had every right to be armed in this situation not knowing the potential threat.

All that sajd i think the dumb ass should have bought a motion sensor light like most responsible home onwers....

I'm not arguing about the law. One should be justified in using deadly force to protect themselves and families. They should even be prepared to do so for property. But in a case like this, it is clear that the man just wanted an excuse to kill someone legally.
If it's so "clear", than YOU make the call.

I'm in YOUR house, you've already been burglarized two times in the past.

Why am I there?

I don't have to guess why you're there.

I'm looking at you on cctv. I have a firearm, and you have no idea that I'm about to pop out and put holes in you.

Your point (rhetorical questions) therefore are non sequitur.

I'm not arguing for a change in law or that some one was guilty or not. What I am arguing is that some people value property over life.

Oh wow, you dont care about my opinion. Fuck I'm seriously butt hurt now. Please, don't call me names next, please?

Yet, for someone who doesn't care about my opinion, you took the time to evaluate my character, but according to your own set of rules which skewed your results. I contend that ending the burglar is protection of life, and you continue to claim it's about property. WHAT FUCKING PROPERTY? No one said shit about anything getting stolen or trying to be stolen.

Breaking into someones' home is a person crime, not a property crime. Even if the burglar steals nothing and no one is hurt, this can create a lifetime of problems for the victims. But I guess liberals can only hear the cries of the criminals.

Couple dead burglars compared to all the dead, raped and beaten victims is nothing, and justifies pulling the trigger for no reason other than them being there.

Like I said, I thought I was in the Byron Smith thread, and I don't know the facts of this incident.

In general, I think you are correct with what's bolded.

I'm not a liberal. So who is calling names and judging character?

What I said was accurate. You value property over life. This is based on your comments in this thread.

In fact I bet you just can't wait for some kid to enter your garage so you can legally kill them.

I think he is trying to say what i said. Dude was well within his rights and the law as it is written to defend your home. I just think a mounted motion sensor light will do a lot more to DETER the break in than sitting up with your mossberg across your lap. Not trying to say it is the home owners job to stop scum from stealing from them but if it is a reoccuring event other steps could have been taken to stop this from happening.

We both are/did.

I value life over property. However, you are entitled to an opinion, so enjoy.

And No.

Yeah, that is exactly what he did. Fort those that may not know (Skylard) motion sensors do not incapacitate burglars, they only let you know that something is moving out there, they also do not detect the intruders intentions.

Yeah, this is just sickening. Dude totally wanted to shoot somebody. It's unfortunate the circumstances involved marijuana.

I wonder how that statement played out..

"So I saw a dark figure enter my garage on my camera system and I was so afraid for my life that I grabbed my shotgun and went out the front door. But instead of continuing on to my neighbors house or leave out the back door before calling the police, I decided to confront the person in the garage and since it was too dark to see anything I just fired 4 times at some noise."

How much you wanna bet the door from the garage to the house was securely locked? It'd be even more damning if the garage was detached.

No sane person hopes to carry the memory of killing somebody.
