Its not the same thing... you're right. I would never poison anyone that's for sure. But bottom line is they are going to profit from that plant. That's why they took it for sure. And of course smoke it.. .given that it makes it to harvest. They need a place to keep it.. and it's stinky..and getting stinkier...whoever they are, they are asshats.... and they get caught with it... they'll probably blow the whistle on where they got it. Depending on the age of the perpetrators....
Depending on the laws where you live, often times they take care of things in terms of severity, and they could potentially be looking at more time over a B&E + Burglary than possession of the plant, and that may keep their mouths shut as to where it came from or how they acquired it. Of course I have the luxury of living in a medical state, and ordinances making pot the lowest law enforcement priority in a city that has plenty of actual violent crime to deal with, some other places are still pretty 1950's when it comes to the whole pot thing (Almost said Medieval when it comes to pot but in Medieval times it was still legal like it was everywhere before the 1900's). If they rob you and then narc on you they deserve to burn in a special kind of hell.

Just looks like some purple expressing itself, could be genetic or environmental, has it been particularly chilly at night there recently?

So... when I was a kid and I'd pilfer a fruit from someone's yard I deserved to die for that?

If you steal something you don't know is toxic, and then eat it... how can you NOT deserve whatever outcome your actions have produced?

Not saying anyone deserves to be Killed for *A* fruit... but if someone intrudes someone's residence (or yard, in this case), and steals something, and then consumes that something, and that something happens to make them sick (and/or die), then that's what they get!

Plus, we're talking about a whole cannabis plant, not "A fruit." You didn't take the entire tree, did you?

If some ill fate befalls a thief, due to the very thing they stole... then good! I mean, it's unfortunate, but who else deserves to be blamed for whatever happens to the thief? He chose his actions, and gets whatever he gets.

Why couldn't he just take like a branch? Gotta take the WHOLE plant? If that dude comes back to steal more whole cannabis plants, i think maybe he DOES deserve to die for it. Although i'd always prefer the non-fatal option, since you can't suffer or feel remorse, if you're dead. I'd prefer to keep them alive to regret what they did.

You know I have been thinking about leaving a message of sorts...and warning that I can see and know who they are etc. Now it seems everyone who walks by my house.. I wonder... and especially if they are young... and I lug my last plant in every night... either to the shed or my kitchen... lock up tight and draw my blinds. Something I never thought twice about until now. It's sickening.
Grasscropper, bringing your plant in to your house at night will disrupt the flowering cycle
(ambient room light) your better off bringing into your shed and locking it up.
Once again my sincerest sympathy for what your going through.

Yes I have pondered that as well. So she's going into the shed. It's pitch in there.

I have thought about putting a note on the fence stating something along the lines 'you know what you took, but it wasn't yours to take...do you really really KNOW what you took? could be harmful for your health, and I am watching you".

You might take a look at carport greenhouse. It's like drawing the blinds over your plants. Out of sight, out of mind. The are great to grow in & they look benign...you cannot see inside them & you can put motion alarms around the outside to let you know when anyone is on your property & you can stop them before they see inside...just trying to help....thieves suck...

Nice, may just try one of these at the cottage next year for a little more stealth. Take it the light penetrates well, your plants look good.
