:D thank you sir!

Got all my pots labeled, seeded and watered so now we just wait for them to peek out of the dirt and well be off to the races.

3 per pot and I will cull slow growing/ males/hermis as I go and hopefully by the end each pot will house 1 single female F7 plant.

I chose to limit this group to 2 sub families within my A1 line the Ch which fits the A1 bill but leans more to the cheesier side and the Ci which fits the A1 bill but leans more towards citrus aromas. (citrus was the goal aka fruity)

Only able to fit about 28 pots under each 600w so ill maybe take 4 of these for males when they get going and put them in the male box.

Trying to tighten up some of the phenotypic variation within this population so that I only get light and dark purple budded plants (omit green) and have them sorted into seperate families for further refinement.

Note that I always maintain backup seeds from all phenos in at least 2-3 generations in case I decide to go back and revisit a line that piques my interest for whatever reason.

That's awesome, man! Looking forward to seeing the results. All of the offspring are f7, but from two different lines?

Yes all F7 from 2 sub lines within my A1 line (the subs only split off last generation, different moms same dad)
Ive grown these F7 sub families out 2 times already so I know what im looking for now.

I keep having issues my lights shorting out but I have seperated the ballasts (so they arent drawing from the same outlet) and Im hoping this fixes the issue.

been on 12/12 so far (no timer I just eyeball it) but I will be kicking up the light cycle to an 18/6 or 20/4 soon to take advantage of the veg period..

Good germ rates (2-4 in each pot) now we just wait and let them grow :)

Made a good amount of extracts this weekend, been dabbed outta my gourd all week lmao005.jpg 001.jpg

Nice even sub-tropical temps with high humidity due to the population density +waterings.

Which will be the superior female?
006.jpg

Growin pretty well so far just using plain ol tap water on an 18/6 light schedule, rotating plants front to back nd spinning 180 degrees occasionally.

This is Week 2 now.

Got our first few males and females today :)

I also went through and culled all the late cracking seedlings and weaker plants to give the more vigorous ones room to branch out and spread those roots. (killed about 15)

No air circulation short of me blowing on them a few times a day and sitting in there to listen to music and observe them for pests, diseases, hermis, etc so loose pollen shouldnt be a real big issue just yet.

I also swapped the A1-Ch plants to the MH bulb and put the A1-Ci under the HPS
If anyone is curious, the HPS is actually outperforming the MH so far for veg growth, they also require slightly more water (I think because the increased heat) The MH is attached to a digital ballast and the HPS is on a magnetic.

Performance Based Selections = Cull, Cull, Cull
Killed some males, weak plants and 2 that looked to have balls throwing pistils (intersex) + 2 pots of 3 strong males each from the Ch and 1 pot of males from Ci003.jpg

this is roughly Day 13-14

Today was the Ci day to get looked through and purged of males, intersex plants and weak growers.
lots of culling!
I was a bit worried about how many males I got from the Ch but after going through these I have multiple pots with 3 strong females in them that aIl may need to transplant into there own pots because they are so similar to there pot mates. and the overwhelming majority 60-70% look to be female from this group :D

last pic is of about 6 pots of multiple males (3 pots from each group) of the most superior male specimens to be grown out under CFL in a small box for pollinating this run. Only the most colorful, resinous, vigorous and tightest/heaviest florally clustered males will be used and the others will be tossed.

Update: Day 21-22
I have decided against transplanting any females and instead will do my best to grow them in the cramped conditions they are in, the reason being I am more or less looking to increase uniformity/stability with this generation so more females= more chance of finding a high number of very similar individuals. ( i dont have room to add extra pots + I dont want to cull any plants that are good growers yet.)

Setup my male box the other day and put in 6 pots of boys to select from. as they mature they will begin to show color on their flowers and gain resin on their stems, making selection a bit easier on my part. I also make every effort to select only the biggest, most vigorous males and preferably ones that produce lots of dense clusters of flowers as I believe this translates into female floral growth as well.

On a side not, I have only observed 4 intersex plants out of this group so far ( less than 5-10% is a great number imo)

Ive also attached pics of an individual female lucky enough to have found herself the only one in a pot so you can get an idea about the sexual maturity and size of the plants at this stage of development.002.jpg

Sweet dude,. Got my attention.... Gunna try some breedin for too long...:weed:
:D Stellar! That would really be a dream come tru for me if a bunch of us auto growers on the forums developed some good strains for swappin ;)

whatd you have in mind? as far as goals or strains you wanted to utilize?

Day 23-24
Still just going through a couple of times a day to blow on them and look through for any late flower intersex plants or males I may have missed. I have also been looking to see if the bigger plants start sporting purple calyx because then I have a green light to destroy the weaker plants in the pot with them because obviously the biggest, best growing that also matches the pheonotypic qualities im after this generation is the best choice for continuing through the generations.

1st time watering with 2/3 strength nutes (maxibloom 7g per gallon tap water)

On a side note: I keep my bettas in this room because the winter temps kill them except in the tropical oasis that is my closet lol. I have also started raising this years flock in my plant room under a lamp and near the magnetic ballast so the chicks can stay nice and warm with 18 hour lighting and I dont have to waste time, energy and money on setting up a brooder for them :)

Mag I'm not sure. I wanna grow a few more strains to see what I like and what I'd like to produce. I mean I get a little woody looking at some of the work of yours and Elvis and a few other others here. I need to grow more to get a better idea of what I can and can't do.:weed:

smart man. hahah thank yah sir :D
I totally get you man, I did the same thing initially. Just tried a whole bunch 20+ over the course of 3 grows or so and it gives you a good Idea of weather your bud looks a certain way because of your skill or the genetics. plus it helps develop your skill along the way and hone your eye for selection which is super important and not as easy as youd think initially.

were you thinking auto to auto and just make a strain u like or auto to photo and back to auto till its stable for some new genes and dilution of the rudi traits?

Update
day 26+27
Moved everybody around to do some cleaning/watering/selections found a couple weak females and 2 males that slipped through the cracks now all that should pop up is late flower intersex plants but I usually dont get too many of those (if any). I kinda got lazy and after few brews went to bed early when I should have watered and this morning they were alot drier than Id like to see but oh well ill make a better efort to stay on top of waterings from here on out, since the pots are full of roots and dry up quick.
006.jpg
More than 1/2 my females look to be sporting purple calyxs so hopefully this batch is a really colorful one!

Male Box
This big bastard was one of the males I missed, took a while to show balls and got nice and big (veg monster) before doing so, I transplanted him after a rough uprooting and if he takes might be used for pollen collection later on.

005.jpg
The male box is chuggin along with its 2 little ass cfl bulbs goin 24 hours the plants seem to be doing just fine and some are starting to pull ahead of the pack. 4 or 5 have begun really packing on the flowers while the others are still lagging and may even be yanked soon. This purple dude will most likely be one of 2 males I work with (unless he starts putting off pistils or something) and there is another bigger more vigorous light purple male to the left of him that will probably be the other male I use for pollinating this generation.
