Geezus. I've been reading all over this site for a few days. Seems like the concensus is around 8-10 weeks of flowering, but I'll tell you this thing has had the white hairs going for at least 5 weeks. Guess it's a slow bloomer? I would assume in another 3-4 days the way it's going I won't be able to see the stalks for at least a foot down from each end. I'll take some close ups tomorrow and post. I'm guessing there's nothing from home Depot I can buy to speed up the process, but haven't researched it. Guess I'll have to make the decision when it comes time. I'm not even sure what I'm going to do with it. Probably follow all your instructions to dry and cure. Then I dont know. I'm surely not going to smoke it. Maybe a little, but shit no way am I going to use all this. - if I even get to harvest.

you should probably harvest on the 29th if you have to have it gone by the 30th, the smell lingers for a day anyway, and that gives you a day to rake up any stray leaves and other incriminating evidence.
and i wouldn't hang that to dry anywhere close to your house if you plan to have a lot of people over the next day. that tree is gonna stink when its drying. i would put some serious thought into where you can hang it.
its not going to have time to be "ripe" but if you wait till the 29th it should be pretty decent, worth keepin some anyway.

It's a beauty. Please keep updating. I'm really interested in how this all turns out for you.

And hey... you dont even smoke, so what are you going to do with it all? I'm happy to help :bigjoint:

I`d just give that thing potassium sulphate till your going to cut it

cut it on the 29th cut off all the leaves you can now, I would start doing it in a week or 2 and spend like 5 to 20mins per day

means less trimming when your done

get a big box or bucket to put all the buds in you can seal it up and take it somewhere to dry it

going to take 2 to 10 days to dry it buds off of stems dry faster but some people will poop-poop you for drying like that but cut all the leaf you can off

That dry grass smell that dead fan leaves give off a lot of people notice that and find it more offensive then the smell of buds

get some fresh beans and go again next time you can looks like you did well

if its not ripe enough when you harvest it make some hash or bho or cookies or something with it

Will do. I'm enjoying the picture taking and posting. Glad to have someone to chat with about it.

I plan to put it in jars, take some pictures to remember it by, then probably give some to a friend who smokes. Give some to my dad who is on painkillers - although he may reject it. I have a neighbor who smokes daily, probably give him some. I don't know. I'm interested to see how much I harvest. I have to imagine once dry at least a half pound if not more, but we'll see. I definitely want to do it again next year but be more inconspicuous. Also was thinking of trying tobacco. I smoke cigarettes and it's $12 a pack. Looks like I can buy a thousand seeds for that much. Not sure how to get more bud seeds. The few people I know that smoke use weed that has no seeds anymore. When I smoked I always had to pick em out. I surely don't want to mail order them, may as well put a sign out front if I do that. How do you all get seeds?

Can I cut most of the leaves off? I've heard conflicting arguments. I've done about 30% and it seems fine but didn't want to push it. Cutting most off seems counterproductive to photosynthesis. Would like to if it would be OK!

Man... That would be a shame to chop down early, thats a healthy looking plant you got there. Its definitely not going to be anywhrre near done by the end of october. It looks like its probably a 12-13 weeker.
For seeds, most people order them online. Theres lots of reputable, discreet, and reliable places where you can either send cash, use cc online, paypal, bitcoin, money order... I even know of one that takes gift cards. Its really not as sketchy as you might think and if youborder from within the US theres no worry of customs and is much more reliable. Thats the only way your going to find a strain that you can guarantee will be ready in your timeframe.
The other thing you can try for next year is to use light deprivation so you can force flowering when your ready. if you have a strain that starts in August and doesn't finish until late October/early November, you can start light dep earlier and have it finish earlier for you.
That is a gorgeous plant you have there man, I would shed a tear or two hacking that down before its time.

actually, most of us get seeds through the mail...and occasionally we get a package that's been opened, the seeds removed, and a letter that says "better luck next time" inserted.
but the majority of the time, you get your seeds.
there are a lot of reputable places, many of them advertise here, check out the advertisers forum, they usually have deals and coupon codes.
most of them you can order with paypal or bitcoin, or get that neighbor that smokes daily to take delivery in exchange for a few buds when you harvest

You know the old overused, not-funny-anymore "about a pound" joke that you see on every other thread here? Umm yeah... yours could easily be "more than a pound" if you let that girl grow to her potential.

As for seeds, I grew mine from a clone that I got through a friend. I only planned on growing one plant from the start, so I wanted to know that it would be a female. I got four clones and then watched to see which one I thought had the most potential and went with it. I gave the other three to friends and now there are four sisters all growing healthy and happy at four different households :)

you know, thats actually an option, take a few cuttings, put them on a windowsill in the bedroom till after the big party, then keep them in veg till you want them. easily done with trimming and light cycle manipulation. under a couple of t5s in that closet under the basement stairs 8) , you know the one with the paint cans and the plastic christmas tree

Shit man. I'd hate for this to affect life in a major way, such as canceling a kids party. At the same time it's like building a race car then crashing it on the way to the track for the first time. Seeing it to fruition would be great! Tough, tough decision. Think I'll keep posting pictures here and see how it goes. If it looks like it isn't going to do much more when the time comes I'll take it down. If it looks like there's weeks more to come I may just cancel the shindig. Gosh I feel guilty just saying that. Ugh. Have a good evening all, I'll make sure to keep up with the progress. Going to rely on you all when the time comes. Thanks again to all of you, it's much appreciated. Let me know when you need financial advice lol!

Ha! That would never fly in this house. My wife would straight up throw that shit out! She's entertained this so far only cause we had the play dumb excuse for a while. It's beyond that now and she's only playing along cause she knows I check on the thing several times a day and am into it. She's given the ok if it goes well this year to do a crop in the back woods (ours and fenced)

Yeah cut them lower ones off they`ll only end up rotting or getting bugs you don`t need them you want the plant to focus on fresh growth you want to increase your rootzone to leaves ratio remeber this plant is not outside

and its been selectively bread to over grow

if you don`t sheer a sheep it`ll die in the summer..............
