during my last grow i ran into a some problems with the leaves that started out similar to this. i have a few theories: i know i need to have better airflow, but not sure if its related. the walls were painted probably about 1.5 yrs ago? i know it isnt nute burn so any advice is welcome. thanks. and there arent any bugs either

its about in the middle of a decent sized plant. heres another pic. its hard to see in the pictures. but the first one i posted, its more of a spotting issue. and the second i posted is more of a like dark greenishbrowning dry area on the leaf. i was wondering if the ph could be off. i dont have a meter as stupid as that is

Amazon.com sells digital pH testers for relatively cheap. You can also get the test strips or drops from lowes or HD.

What water are you using? You can try switching to distilled water for a week and see if that helps things since you dont have a tester.

No problem. Yeah, depending on where your water comes from, theres no real way to guess your Ph.

I was using faucet water on my plants before seeing similar issues on my leaves. I got a meter, and my tap water is 8.2!!! So now I have to correct it when I water (kind of a pain, lol).

But yeah... pH meter is essential if youre on public water. Ground water is usually good to go from the faucet.

Pool Spa place? Hydroponics store? I tried home depot and lowes... no dice there for a digital one (which is the only one worth buying IMO).

Drive to PA, you can borrow mine. lol

i WOULD FLUSH , AND GIVE IT A MILD FERTILIZER , LOOKS LIKE A DEFICIENCY OF EITHER POTASSIUM(K) OR MANGANESE(Mn).
Not trying to be a dick, but thats the last thing I'd do. If you dont know what your problem is, step one is always testing your pH. NEVER add nutrients until you know your pH is correct, and is not your problem. If your pH is off, the plant will not be able to uptake certain nutrients, making it LOOK like a deficiency. When in reality- all the nutes it needs are in the soil... it just cant use any of it because of the pH. What looks like a deficiency can very easily be a deficiency CAUSED BY a pH lockout.

Always fix your pH before trying anything else.

thanks senor. any idea what the going rate for one at a store is. your a huge help haha
No clue to be honest. I order almost all of my grow supplies via the internets. If home depot doesnt have it, I usually order it. If you want to start correcting the problem TODAY, give the plants a good flush with distilled water, which is always a pH of 7. In the mean time, try to get a tester. If you can find one at a store, I doubt it would be more than $50. Mine was $23 shipped.

It also could be a fungal disease. The link below is to a list of cannabis diseases that include a disease that causes yellow or brown spots on leaves. I'd like to mention to you that I have had these on various plants before and it didn't really do anything that I noticed but it can decrease yield if that's what it is. I too use the tap water where I live, and it has a ph of 6.5. I let mine sit out at least 24 hours also, and haven't had a problem with it. I do also flush after a month of growth and then again at the end.

I was going on two things
#1, the plant is pretty healthy looking, looks like a mature plant, if it were PH problems why would the plant look so good?
#2, he said something like " it can't be nute burn" which led me to believe that he is not adding much in the way of nutrients, ergo a flush and mild nute dose might help.
But you are right , knowing what your
water PH is , is a good thing.:bigjoint:

1. Depending on the severity of his pH problem, the plant's growth may not be noticeably slowed.

2. A flush without knowing the pH wouldnt solve any problems- he'd be flushing it with water that still has the incorrect pH. Nutrients usually lower the pH, but without knowing if its too high or low, theres no way to tell if the nutes would be making the problem better or worse. Nutrients dont do anything if the plant can't use them.
