Day 20 update (about Day 15 from first leaves). Have narrowed it down to 9 plants now. I'm going to start topping these girls in the next day or two. The lower side branch growth is going crazy.

Not a bad looking leaf for just over 2 weeks from seed. DWC never ceases to amaze...

First tomato too!

nice healthy plants you got there
lush looking leaves

Thanks brethren. They are clearly showing their indica dominance with this 60/40 hybrid.

Skunkd0c: nice signature! inspirational!

Did some topping and pruning last night. Amazing the pile of foliage I got from plants that are just a couple of weeks old. They looked a little beat up after I had my way with them, but they rebounded quickly and are looking frisky again....much like with many females, but without the attitude. ;-)

Day 27 (from seeds poking out) and about day 22 from first leaves. I did some topping and a lot of trimming of lower fan leaves that were getting shaded and they filled right back in. They are starting to look like heads of lettuce, so I raised the lights quite drastically to get some stretch in preparation for clone cuttings. I also need to pick a couple to get rid of and narrow it down to 6 - 7 plants. Hard choice, but one seems prone to calcium deficiency, while none of the rest are and one just isn't showing great structure. The far left plant in the blue bin is the healthiest, best looking plant by far...great coloration, stem and leaf structure. The far left plant in the yellow bin is the most stout, already a big trunk with lots of bark and good branching.

The plants in the ebb and flood table have broader leaves and two of them are potential keepers. Hard to compare them to the DWC plants due to the different hydro method and different lighting.

Raised the PPMs to 560 two days ago and they were down to the high 400s today, so bumped them back up to about 580. Pro Grow, Cal-Mag, Aquashield, and Liquid Karma.

Time to go do some more topping.

Ha ha, yeah. And I had already cut the lowest ones off a couple of days before these pics. I did some mad topping and trimming two days ago, packed a grocery sack pretty full of leaves and tops and one plant that missed the cut. It just so happens that the one that I took out had the longest, craziest roots in the bubblers and good growth, but it was showing signs of calcium deficiency (rust spots on leaves) while the others were not, even with a couple of extra doses of CalMag. Might have been a good producer, but I'm not gonna be chasing calcium all the time in the flower room.....therefore, she's out! No looking in the rear view.

Damn! I wish I could be that cold hearted in my room!

Pretty crazy. I moved this plant from the ebb/flood to the bubbler 72 hours ago and pruned the roots back to the base of the net pot. This is 72 hrs worth of root growth in DWC. As I've said before, DWC never ceases to amaze.

Did 60%+/- rez changes yesterday and brought PPMs up to low 700 range on all containers. A PPM check this afternoon revealed PPMs in the 560 - 580 range...guess they were hungry. Gonna let them just chill for a day or two before I give em more nutes. They were all in a little be of shock, I'm sure, from the MASS pruning and toppin I've done over the last 4 - 5 days, but they are spitting out new growth all over the place. The shock, if you can call it that, lasted all of about 24 - 36 hrs. After years of use, I'm a firm believer that Liquid Karma truly helps plants recover from and/or endure any type of shock, be it from pruning, transplanting, topping, etc, etc. very quickly....all those B vitamins and amino acids are no BS....Liquid Karma = Sea Kelp extracts. Even though I use a different recipe for clone rooting these days (due simply to the fact that I use a cloning machine now and LK can clog sprayers), I've had great success cloning with just Ph'd RO water and LK on many occasions in the past.

Look no further than the post above and see what happened to the roots when pruned and transplanted...the only thing really added during this 72hr period was Liquid Karma...rather than seeing noticeable shock, the plant seemed excited (partially because of it going into DWC, I'm sure,...but I don't discount the LK effect).

I have no affiliation with Botanicare and have nothing to gain by promoting their products. However, after nearly 10 years of using their products I, for one, am a believer. Here's another thing...I've been in dozens and dozens, if not 100s of hydro stores all along the west coast. They all carry different lines of products and they all try to pimp this and that line, but....you know what they ALL have in stock?? Yep, Botanicare. Just look at your local store(s) next time you're there and you'll see. I have not heard one store clerk dis their products...and they all carry them. It doesn't surprise this kid.

Just took some beefy ass clones off of the top 6 plants (24 total). The mothers looked like they'd been beat to shit afterward and the next day I could hardly tell...nice recovery! Here are some update pics. Flower room getting close to being ready even though it will be 5 - 6 weeks before it sees real action.

very interesting. Looks like a nice clean setup and Ice cream is one of the strains that interests me a lot. I had one plant of Ice cream before when I was a noob and she reacted very badly to the crappy soil I had her in. This stuff was giving run off of 3. something so I think it was just too low for her, she got to about a foot tall and just died. But when she was alive she really stunk. Maybe it was a blessing in disguise as I was trying to keep it stealth.

^^Thanks bro. I encourage you to give it another shot. I hear many people say the same thing you did (very intriguing strain). I've never seen it at a dispensary or anywhere else other than my own grows, but EVERYONE goes nuts for it.

I'm currently in the "hurry up and wait" period...not much else to do. This is when patience gets hard. Guess I could do some more work in the flower room, but there is no rush. Will be a different story once I find my pheno(s)...then the whole cyclical machine will start rolling. My weakness is, at this stage, I start thinking about more shit I want in the room and my pocket book starts quivering...internet shopping has made this syndrome much worse since back in the day. The latest additions to arrive on my doorstep are the Autopilot CO2 monitor, the Titan Ares 2 CO2 burner, and some more ATI bulbs for my pre-veg fixture. I also ordered some UVA/UVB bulbs for use in flowering for my first time ever (Google UVA or UVB cannabis if you're interested...Ed Rosenthal - more resin/trichome/potency production). I never wanted to try this in the past because T8s were the only option, but now ZooMed has Reptisun 5.0 and 10.0 bulbs in T5. I'm very familiar with these since I breed chameleons. As I happen to have some extra single T5 fixtures, I ordered two of the 4ft 54watt 10.0 bulbs. T5s are obviously much stronger and more efficient than T8s...and the 10.0s are the most powerful line from ZooMed. Needless to say, I will be switching them off when I'm in the room, even while wearing the method 7s. I don't need any more UVA/UVB than I get already...ha ha.
