Phelps and WBC Plan To Protest Funeral of Tuscon 9 Yr. Old

Reportedly, The Westboro Baptist Church plans to picket the funeral of the 9 yr old victim of the Tuscon massacre. Apparently, she and her family are Catholic, and WBC don't like Catholics.

There has surely been enough shooting and other violence already, but I really hope someone does a drive-by on Phelps and his clan.

There have already been rallies in Tucson to stop the Phelps. They are planning on creating a human shield around the funeral to keep the Westboro bastards away from the grieving families. They plan to protest at ALL funerals of this horrific tragedy.

Yeah I can't see why these loons would want to protest at a furneral..seems crazy and very disrespectful...seems like the community are getting ready for these stupids fools..In addition to the expected legislation, some Tucson residents are planning an "angel action" -- with 8- by 10-foot "angel wings" worn by participants to shield mourners from picketers.

Absolutely pathetic. What part of Christianity does this behaviour come from??? Just goes to show how religious nutbags can warp the language in the Bible to suit their own warped realities. That is exactly why I'm not religious. I may believe in a higher power, but "organized religion" is the "devils" playground.

I believe there is actually lots of security to protect these nut cases wherever they go too, because lots of people would like to see what I would like to see -- somebody drive by with an automatic weapon. If it weren't the case, it would have happened by now. I still think it might eventually. Hope so.

Even this is promoting violence. I don't know if it is left wing or right,, but it is still hate speech. There should be some legislation put forth to prevent this affront on free speech. These soldiers that they so often protest at their funerals, basically died for their freedom of speech and they turn it against them. This should be prevented by an exclusionary law, although fucking with the first amendment is very dangerous.

WBC are far from religious. Many of them including Fred Phelps are/were lawyers so they picket these funerals in hopes of provoking an assault so they can sue the city for not adequately protecting them.

az just enacted emergency legislation keeping them 300 feet or yards away from the funeral. no link, too lazy.

methinks it should be more like 3,000 yards.

so the question is... who is going to protest the protestors?
Sometimes the best way to deflate a situation is to politely address the asshole. Excuse me, but we're grieving here, would you mind
not doing your protest now?

Of course if that didn't work, you could always find out where they live and go burn their house down.

from what i understand this is how they pay for their travels.

they showed up a couple of years ago to protest a funeral of a marine here in the town i live, the patriot guards of north texas did an exellent job surrounding these scum bags and kept the family from seeing the hate. i hear an angel group are going to surround the haters wearing 8' x 10' angel wings blocking the view at the funerals in arizona. if there is a pearly gate, i really doubt if st. pete lets any of these asshole pass by.

the problem is that these people WILL NOT stop the protest. thats what theyre about. do u know how many times theyve been asked to not do that?
i saw last night on the news that they formed a group of people to stand in between the protestors and the funeral. a few years ago they dressed in all white and had huge 8ft angel wings on, to block the view. i believe they are going to do that again. i just realized kevin already said this

Med, i would call it NUT WING! I think a few of these groups need to be mowed down, and maybe they might start staying home. Yes i am insiteing violence! People should have enough respect to let them bury there dead in peace.
