Your wording is a bit odd, unless I've just misread it. If your pH rises, that means it's going 5, 6, 7. To correct that, you'd use pH down.

It's normal for the pH to rise over a few days, it's the nutrient mix homogenizing and balancing it's self out. When you first drop the pH, you have some spare acid floating around in it. Over a few days, it slowly finishes changing the properties of the solution. It can take days or up to a week for a 50l tank to finally sit dead still.

Some guys use buffered nut on here specifically to slow down the bouncing.

Adding more nutrient to drop the pH isn't a great plan. Nutrient only lowers the pH by a few .1's. If you're already running it at the recommended amount, adding more is likely to burn your plants.

My tank pH rises and it's a run to waste system with a lid on the tank. So it does it whether the plants are there or not.

Rising to what? PH fluctuation is perfectly normal. PH swings from 5.5 to about 6.1 are fine. Above 6.1 I correct with PH down.

GH nutes should buffer your res pretty well. what strenght are you using? I would drop the grow and use just the micro and bloom at a 1:2 ratio. Lucas formula. Change the res when you have added back the amount of res water. Ususally about every 2 weeks. Dumping weekly is a waste of $$ IMHO.

it is normal for ppl to under feed a plant and when ph rises ur plant is telling u its hungry and u should add a little bit more nutes..i do..when my ph rises the day after i added or two days after i added nutes ill add a little bit of water and nutes with ph around a 4.5 to even out my ph and make my plants happy

Jeepers i rum the same set up as you, gh, buckets, and r.o water. I'llseetheph raise about .4-.6 over the course of 3 weeks. make sure to calibrate your ph pen, i use a hanna and have to cal. every other time i use it it sucks will be off like .5-.8 in just a few uses

I use a pinpoint PH with a separate probe (wired), and that thing stays calibrated quite well. It does live in nutewater though 24/7.
