Hey folks, I have had probs with my past 2 trys and now same with third. Bottome leaves tips getting brown and crunchy and working up leave and then up plant. I am in FFOF and temps are around 78 and humitidy at 45 6 bank of T5s watering with 6.8 tap after sitting out 48 hrs. My runoff is around PH 6. I thought FF was PH balanced. Should I water next with PH around 7.4 or something. My babies growth slowed and I gues Nitro lock out. Do not want to replant with more dolomite if can be avoided. FF has dodomite in it. Please advise. Thanks guys!

I'd like to see what everyone else says. I just started using the ocean forest mix and I've been watering with 6.0-6.4, but I'm only in week 2. I think the OF retains a lot of water, and I'm not sure if I should be watering with low pH water.

Yeah man again i'm watering with Phd 6.8 water. Thought FFOF would hold that level.

I would think eventually you would have to start pH'ing your water, but this is my first time using FFOF. If you keep feeding it more basic water, I would think it will lose the acidity in the soil.

Nitro lockout occurs much lower than that. FFOF is the shit, i love hydro and soil but for soil its always FFOF and some extra perlite. It is loaded with nutes but cannabis loves nutes. FF reccomends that after 3 weeks you begin fertilization. However i vegged a clone in a dixie cup in that soil until it was over a foot tall with just water (just for kicks) and although it grew really slow compared to its sisters it never had a def. Are you watering it enough, and are the temps over 80? And 5.5 is def for hydro, 6.5 is perfect for soil. IMO.

Sweet, someone experienced with FFOF. You adjust your water to pH 6.5 before watering right? I think the OP and myself were a bit confused on if the pH balanced medium needed pH'ed water. I always assumed yes.

I always adjust to 6.5 , but the oyster shells in the mix give you some room for error. They dont contribute so much to a alkali enviroment, they just help buffer acids back to neutral pH.
