PH and PPM drop before using the nutes

I'm using FFOF soil in 3- 5 gal. buckets
strain is Pure Power Plant sativa dom.
R.O. water, GH flora Trio (yes I know they're hydro nutes but they CAN be used in soil) but after this grow, I'm switching to Fox Farm nutes. I also use Cal/Mag 1 tsp. per gal. and Hydroguard, as well as a little Hydrogen peroxide.
4' X 4' X 7' tent
600 W

I made up my nutes with ro and PHed it to 6.5, but I waited till the next day to feed them. I thought it might be a good idea to check the PH and PPM again before using the nutes. I was suprised to see the PH at 5.5 and the PPM that was at 900 is now 735?
What's the story, should I just raise the PH and use the nutes?

For what its worth, why would you use hydrogen peroxide in soil? You are just killing half of what youre paying for. Should just use promix or something soiless if youre just going to kill everything.

What do you expect from GH nutes. They're for hydro so most likely buffered to seek a lower pH and it takes a while to stabilize.

Have you checked the calibration of your pens recently?

I'd go ahead and use them if that's what you got to use.

You shouldn't mix peroxide and hydroguard since one kills organisms and the other is an organism.
The pH and ppm may change a couple of hours after tap water is taken out since some minerals can evaporate.

The only bottled nutes i recommend are nectar for the gods, which dosnt mean anything, just my personal opinion. Aurora i hear does well, maybe a little more user friendly? What stage of growth are you in?

You can keep your currents nutes. Finish what you have and try something new after.

For reference I used 10$ nutrients from home depot for my whole grow and got some great buds

Oh please don't go to FF nutes! You won't like them!

Everybody has nutrient opinions! Everyone's is the "best"...

I have been testing Botanicare KIND for a few runs now..... I've tested so many nutrient lines over the years....Hesi, Canna, a few others stand out but, they are expensive and have things you don't really need..

Then a some of folks around me (most I know quite well) began the KIND line and made some fantastic runs!...

While the main part of my growing is still (and will be) my organic water only soils...I have to say, I'm very impressed with the reults I have gotten with the KIND.

For the price and the ease of use, along with the very fine results.....I say give it a try! I add a kelp extract weekly for the micro's, vit's and Humic/Fulvic acids. You will not "need" anything else.

Great suggestions! But back to my PH and PPM original posting, I flushed them until the runoff was 6.2. I guess I'll just have to keep an eye on it, and next go around I'll use better nutes.

Runoff is not accurate. Do slurry tests in the future. 2" from the edge of your pot, 2" deep, dig down and yake 1-2 oz of soil. However much you take, add the same amount distilled water. Sir it up, let it sit 15-20 min, stirring occasionally. Now test that. This will tell you exactly whats going on in your root zone.

Run off pH is simply the pH of the run off - NOT the soil!

Soil self pH's..... One thing to remember is that when you water/feed. The pH drops around a whole point. As the soil dries back out. The pH rises back to the soils resting point....

If it bothers you that much and you "have" to do something to keep the pH of soil right. Adjust your in-going solutions to 6.5 in veg and 6.7 in bloom and forget about the soil pH!

?? Why dig into soils, where the plant is active? Why stress the plant? Properly amended soil = self pH's!

Did you read op? Im doubting soil is self ph'ing getting doused with hydrogen peroxide and hydro nutes. But, if you need to know whats going on, thats the way to do it. The plant will be fine. I would also doubt the soil is properly amended if one is using hydro nutes @ 900 ppm. Whats worse, a little hole the plant will recover from in a day, maybe 2, or ongoing malnutrition because your root zone ph is all fucked up?

LMFAO! I read the whole thing. FYI, H2o2 use, is not bad as long as you don't use too much!

Disturbing the roots, causes stress. It takes longer then 1-2 days for that to go away..

Well it's seems that it might be that it is what it is, and I have never checked the runoff PH before and I was o.k. Definitely some controversy regarding this subject,but I hope this thread will also help others.
