PC grow ready for round two.

Quick update on my girl. Growth definitely is booming, I'll have a lot to tuck under the net in a few days. Also, there is always that one shoot that gets the best amount of light and fires up like a rocket. I'll be keeping my eye on that one...

I also included a few pictures of my two outtake fans. Only one of them works, I installed the other one in case of really high temps, a sort of backup. I'll be using that one when the lights and main fans go off. I think this is called negative pressure (?) when just one of the fans work.

And if anyone is wondering what that metal tray is doing there, it is to collect run-off. I tested it once and it actually works. The liquid stayed there for a couple of days, but to my amazment the humidity didn't really increase that much, so that is good.

Looks cool. I have a dozen old PC cases, maybe I should save them? How many ounces can a lowly PC box pull?
Hmm... if one were to properly prepare a pc box with mylar, strong lights etc. you could actually harvest around 0,7 ounces. I hope I converted that properly, I use the metric system (so thats around 25g). I think I saw a few journals where people pulled it off. I would say that the typical yield is from 15-25g. Oh, nearly forgot, PC towers are a must OR come to think of it, you could somehow "connect" two PC's together? One on top of the other. That would require some cutting but then you have a huge amount of space... damn, I might just do that on my next grow.

Anyway, the yield is nothing compared to lets say a cabinet/fridge grow BUT if you could hook up a couple of PC boxes than I dare say the result would be satisfactory. :D

Also, this is my first ever indoor grow so as you can see, there have been already a ton of errors that will definitely impact the yield a bit.

My circulation fan stays on 24-7 and internal air movement fan only when the lights are on.
And, my fridge is thermostatically air conditioned !
The benefits of using a fridge, that must come in handy.

hmm... I'll definitely hook up my additional fan if this is the case.

Ok, so thanks to fishdeths and Tims inspiring threads on their grow cabs, I myself have decided to finally build a home made grow cabinet DUN, DUN, DUUUUUUUUN... Well, the plan is of course in the makings, I have yet to order all the necessary parts. I have constructed a list of the items I would need to buy. The investment is quite big, but the things we do for our hobbies eh?

The only thing that is really bothering me (more than it should) is that the front of the wardrobe is actually the slimmer side. That means I would actually be making it harder for me to "do stuff" inside eg. tend to my plant(s), use a scrog net etc. Am I over exaggerating or could this cause a few problems? The only one I can think of as of this time, is that the fan + carbon filter would have to be parallel to the wider side so the end of the filter would be pointing in the direction of the door... which mind you, doesn't really make any kind of problem. If it fits, it sits.

The whole wardrobe is from ikea, so maybe I could pop in there and ask if I could use the wider side for the door. I am in no way a carpenter and/or tinkerer so this kind of overwhelmes me.

On the side note, this used to be my sisters wardrobe, back from when she was a "punk" and a huge fan of Curt Cobain, hence the colour and writings.

Peace all, I'll be thinking about this whole build and whether or not I should go at it.

P.S. the whole thing is about 2,1m high, so I'll divide the cabinet into two. The top will have around 1,6 or 1,9m. I'd say that is a safe distance for using strong lights. The bottom part could be used for some storage and/or electrical equipment. I'm scared of humidity/water causing a fire.

Mylar or white paint? That is the question. I checked in my garage and found this white paint that is used as a base in case the previous walls have a dark colour. Will that do or does it have to be some special white paint?

All righty, the stretch is still on, today I had to tuck in a few branches. Other than that nothing to report.
Looking pretty good in there.
Just one suggestion.
Take off that extra black wire holding the tips horizontal.
Let the tops of those leaves face the light, watch them, and when they are at the right height, tuck them under so that the next day they will turn upward, grow more.... repeat as necessary.
The top of the leaves facing the light source is the best for proper photosynthesis to occur.
If you miss the spurt or they just go crazy on you ang get too tall to tuck back under, just use a bread tie to tie them on top of the screen.
Hope this helps....

Wow, I haven't updated this thread in a long time. If anyone is wondering, no, it isn't dead. I've just been preoccupied with my neest grow.

Time for the long lost update! She is nicely into flowering and the stretching has finally come to a hault. Some pistols are turning brown, but if I were to take a closer look at the trichomes, they would be all 100% clear. I just never thought I'd see my girl maturing, so it's nice to look at her even if there isn't much. :D I hope the buds are going to fatten up soon, it's too early to put a stamp on her yet. I've heard buds can fatten up considerably in just two to thrree weeks. Fingers crossed. Lots of leaves turned yellow due to my inability to give her a watering for five days. I've corrected that and won't let it happen again.

Thanks fish. :D They look really sweet because of their size, little popcorns. But I must resist the urge to pluck them now. I have really high hopes for this one, because she is a 80% sativa if I remember correctly.. Just how I like it. :D
