Package with seeds from Nirvana opened and missing seeds

I realize this probably ought to be in the legal forum, but hardly anyone is viewing it, and I need an answer fast because I am kind of freaking out.

I am growing indoors with DWC right now, and have a XXL tent in construction right now. I have a lot of supplies lying around the house. I just ordered my seeds from Nirvana a couple of weeks ago. And when it got here, the package had already been open, and the seeds were missing.

I've looked at threads about customs confiscation, which comes with a letter and no repercussions, but this came with no letter. Just a missing packing slip and seeds.

It looks like it hasnt been open for very long either, because the adhesive is still somewhat sticky but not much. So I'm thinking someone from a local postal service took it out, and too the packing slip as evidence and turned it in to the county sheriff or local PD.

either way, it's not good. I live in Indiana, where paraphenalia is a slap on the wrist. And they took the seeds before I got them, so I can't get nailed for possession. But I'm afraid they may obtain a warrant and just search my house, finding 3 plants already growing, and a giant tent being set up.

I have a friend willing to store the DWC, lights, nutes, bongs, etc at his place. I'm going to get it all out of here before tomorrow just in case so I have nothing if they come.

Do you think they will try to bust me? Has anyone ever dealt with anything like this before?? I'm really worried...

someone liked the strain you purchased. probably germing them already. lol
i'd contact the seed bank and see if they could help.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't opening mail a federal offense unless they are law enforcement? But could only be customs or local post office because i doubt the DEA was in the mailroom waiting for my package. And I didn't get a letter from customs like everyone else did so someone at the post office committed a felony by opening my package. Would they get in trouble for it when they found seeds and turned them in to the police?

I just feel like anyone willing to break the law by opening mail isn't probably go to the police and tell them what they took illegally, especially if he's a postal worker because he wouldn't want to risk getting in trouble himself, right? or would finding the seeds make him immune to trouble? I'd think they just take them and either throw them away or grow them like fdd2blk was sayin hah.

The dilemma really comes down to if I keep them here, growing, I risk police just one day showing up with a warrant, and I get taken down for cultivation, which would not be good. OR, the really hard part, I could just kill them, and store the materials someone else for a while and let things cool down for a while. I live in a conservative town in southern indiana and I wouldn't put it past them to show up hoping to bust a grow, it makes them feel empowered and awesome I guess. But I think the chances of it either getting stolen or turned into the police and getting processed is about 50/50.

What do you guys think? Should I scrap it; wait a month or two and try again with some bag seed? Or should I not worry about it and just continue growing just in a REALLY concealed spot (it's part of a crawl space under my house, very small door to get in which I could just cover with a shelf or something)?

I'd really appreciate any advice. I know with experience comes wisdom. This is my first grow and so I'm very lacking in wisdom. Help a brotha out.

I have three plants, approx 2 weeks old. Master kush.

Here are my babies:

what to do....:-?

We have postal workers found with thousands of letters in their possesion quite often. Kinda strange.
While growing always has risk, I think somebody kept your gear for themselves.
Btw: That foil could cause you some problems(hotspots).

Is there any way of finding out for sure though?? Would it be safe to call the post office and say that someone had gone through my package, and just never actually say what was in it?

Because I mean if they already turned it in to the police, me calling and saying wtf, and them saying oh yea we got your seeds and notified the police, what further damage could it do if the police already know about it?

In all liklihood I'd call and they'd say well we will talk to the person who delivered that day and will get back to me, and then either never call back (bad news) or will call back and say we sincerely apologize but they don't know who did it (good news). Then they'd probably ask me if I'd like to make a claim. Obviously I wouldn't.

My equip can only stay at my friends house for a week, and he's already paranoid as shit because he is still living at home with his parents [he's almost 18].

I need a way of finding out what happened; I can't just guess and take blind risks. Does calling the post office sound okay or will that possibly seal my fate of being searched? ( I wish they would come and search tomorrow while NOTHING was here, so I can say I'm sorry it was for a friend, my bad. Then bring it all back and start up again...)

Taking the seeds out of the package and letting you have the empty package would undermine their investigation because they would have to have the rest of the evidence..the whole package with your name on it and the seeds packaged inside...so they could go to a judge and say.."look, this guy ordered seeds over the web, we think he's growing"

They can't just walk in with seeds in their hand and say hey give us a warrant.

Did you double-check the package? No offense, they're easily overlooked, if you went stealth.
yea man they came in a keychain pouch thing that looks like a black sheep. I got a knife and opened the sheep up inside out and there's nothing there. Someone took them out, so the question is who. most everyone seems to think they were just stolen anyway. god I hope theyre right.... If i have a sheriff show up at my door asking to be let in to search the premises .... i will an hero

but that'd be just my luck. I shoulda got a PO w fake creds or something. shipping to my house was retarded. :dunce:

You're absolutely right but I'm pretty sure the last time I ordered from them, they sent a packing slip with it. And there was NO packing slip in this one.

I went to the helpdesk on nirvana's site and submitted a ticket but it's been 4 days and no response... so idk yet if there was a slip or not.

IF not, youre right, and I'm safe.

but if there was a slip and they took it out along with my seeds...I feel like I'm pretty much fucked.

Dude I need to know... are you being serious?? Also keep in mind that *my package had already been open* before getting to my house.

I'm normally all for jokes but I gotta know right now. please don't kid about this.

If you're not kidding, that's the most fucked up thing ever. WTF Nirvana?! I had so much hassle and trouble moving MY ENTIRE GROW OP to a friends house out of pure paranoia. If they just ripped me off imma be pissed. But I guess it beats the fuzz knockin on my door :cuss:

Where I live, if a postal worker turned in seeds to them, they'd jump on that shit hoping to catch a big grow in the middle of a quaint neighborhood.

I understand completely what you're saying, but I think their M.O. towards drugs are a lot less tolerant than in most places in the country.

But I do find it unlikely that they will ever show, I just am being extra cautious because there is still a risk, albeit pretty small. And if i'm caught they'll have no mercy with me. Not a chance I'm willing to take ya know.

I just wish I could get this grow going and harvested so I can save up to move to a green state and get a license so I don't have to deal with this prohibition bullshit anymore

Dude! I think your way too paranoid to be setting up a big op. Just my opinion
it was only supposed to be 10 plants, not too big. And I've never been paranoid about it at all until this. I mean you can understand why I'd hope... I just don't want any trouble. I wanna grow in my peace and privacy and not have to worry about rats. We all know the feeling when things aren't going that way. it sucks.
