If there are things like spirits and stuff your better to have them on your side than against you.I was raised on stories about being a descendant of Polly Parrot, a famous Creek Indian from here in NW Florida. She refused to be shipped out west during the Trail of Tears, and the Creek word for the place they hid out {in Jackson County Florida} sounded like Bogs, so over the years, her group became the Bogs family, which I am kin to. {our local Chief's mother was a Bogs} I did mess around with the Creek religion for 20 odd years.
But last year the wife and I got our DNA tested with 23 & Me. Turns out I am 98.5% Western European. Less than .1% African or American Indian. lol I am one white ass mamma jamma.
I still will ask the Grandfathers to bless a big undertaking {like planting seeds}.
The area i grow is a special place for the local tribe, there a sacred site on the hill next to it and i've spoke to a couple of the old guys about doing my thing there and they just laughed and said i'd probably spent more time in the bush than any of them lol but they appreciated the show of respect and they ended up taking me to a couple of other cool places i didn't even know existed and i've lived here for over 30 years.
