Outdoors In The Northeast

Hey Jimmer, you mentioned earlier in the thread that you veg for a long time and it effects flowering. In what way do you think it effects them? Not questioning your logic, just curious if it helps them flower sooner or later.

And about the woods compared to the wide open, I would agree with the woods flowering sooner. I had one in the wide open and the rest in the woods and the wide open flowered last by 7-10 days but yielded the most. They were all from the same bagseed strain we had. Another thing I noticed is the woods protects from frost a bit compared to the wide open. The wide open plant shook off frosty leaves without missing a beat in mid September last year though.
The 4 mothers flowered earlier by 1 week at least. I also think just normal lights coming from my house and property keeps them vegging just a little longer also. But hey every year seems to be a little different depending on several conditions. I'm a

Ok dumb question of the day.....

What does guerilla growing refer to ? I just always thought it meant outdoor growing....

Does it happen to be growing outdoor without using pots ??

Lookin like The Church are duds, they've been in paper towel since Wednesday:cry:. Theres still a chance but not holdiing my breath. A couple of the Mind Bender took 5 days to crack in the paper towel. I can tell already that the Mind Bender are hardier than the Early Durban as they are outgrowing them in the chilly basement..

FJC, Big Bang and Special Kush 1 have sprouted. I want 5 foresure females to go along with my 7 regular seeds so I am gonna start another FJC and Big Bang.

It stopped snowing so the 7 older plants are enjoying some natural sunlight on the deck. They are in a mini greenhouse since it's still only 10*c (50f).

How cold do u think your average 2-3 week old seedling can handle without any type of damage. I was thinking 5C (41F). When weather permits i would like to leave outside in the mini greenhouse.

I have no idea how low the temp can go for a 2-3 week old seedling without any damage, as I've never put any to the test.

Seems strange with your Church seeds though. That really sucks !! I'm probably 12 for 12 over the past few years with GH seeds. I was wondering, do you give your seeds a good 20 - 24 hour soak before you go to the paper towels ?

Some people wear gorilla suits when guerilla growing, but it isn't necessary and perhaps not even recommended...hot as hell.

The guerilla part refers to the don't be seen, don't be known, get it done part. There are no dumb questions, read, observe, ask, learn.

Ya I soaked the seeds for about 20hrs and then to paper towel. The other 3 seeds all cracked in 24hrs or less in the paper towel.

Anyone subscribe to the farmers almanac? Any idea of how the seasons weather is looking? A farmer I was talking to that grows organic veggies said were looking at a wet season on the north east. Mold mold and more mold

Hopefully it pays off :)
I'm just going to use potting soil, compost, and some perlite. My holes will be around 2 feet deep, and 2 or 3 feet in diameter.
The plants will have snail killer, and a little wire fence around them. lol
I'll probably visit once a week or so to make sure they are good.
Nice, i'm going to try and set up something similar. I'm kind of on a budget, not to mention busy with work so checking on them regularly isn't really an option.

This has me leaning on MG's Moisture Control (I know i know)... but honestly I've used it before and it kind of works for my situation. Cheap, and regulates water control when i cant. As long as i dont fuck around with nutes my girls should be alright, til flowering where ill start feeding them again.

BTW, what do you use for the slugs?

I checked it out a couple weeks a go, and for my area it says
"April and May will be a bit warmer than normal, with below-normal precipitation and snowfall.

Summer will be warmer than normal, with the hottest periods in early to mid-July, mid- to late July, and mid- to late August. Rainfall will be below normal in Newfoundland and Labrador and above normal elsewhere. Expect tropical storm threats in August and early September.

September and October will be warmer, wetter, and snowier than normal."

The prediction doesn't start well, because of the crappy weather so far.

This is my first real outdoor grow too, so for slugs I'm going to the hardware store to get slug bait. Whatever brand is safer for the environment/animals. Putting seaweed around the base of the plant is supposed to be good too, so I may use that or beer in a cup for back up.
That MG Moisture control is 15.99 for 56 liters here. That's not cheap! lol
Plenty of people use MG with no problem so I hope it works well for you too.

that's where the bigfoot sightings stem from

I like the beer trick but my dogs drink it up on me. The best thing I found is broken shells around the base. You can get bags real cheap at lowes or hd and it never has to be replace or replenished. It works by cutting them up trying to get to the plant, end of problem.

Wanted to add whats wrong with a few of last years pics while we're waiting on this year.

Just curious...I plan on doing 6 plants....who the heck knows what they yield but obviously they have the potential for lbs....not sure what I would even do with that much if it does happen, lol....anyone ever have a problem with too much weed, and not being able to get rid of it ? Lol

I got my other seeds today.
They were only in the paper towel for 10 hours, and the Blueberry Headband has cracked the shell already.
