Multiple threads about Sanders, voluntarily changing your avatar's to Bernie..

It must make you guys pretty upset Sanders is the most popular politician in the country

I wonder what @Fogdog has to say about all this?
Sanders', like The Donald's, reasoning is not based in reality. One half of the country is dumb for supporting Trump, the other half is dumb for supporting Bernie.

Face it, we are a dumb shit country. Filled with dumb shit people. Making dumb shit decisions.

Most of his proposed plans are not well thought out and are not affordable. They aren't based on reality, as we know it today.
What do you believe is not well thought out about Sanders' tax proposal plan and his medicare for all plan?

The medicare for all plan has been estimated by the CBO to cost $32 trillion over 10 years, if we continue under the current system, that cost rises to $49 trillion over 10 years. If we implement the Republicans plan, the plan heading to the house within the next week or so, the numbers skyrocket, increasing costs as well as the number of uninsured.

Medicare for all is cheaper to implement, so why do you believe it's not affordable?

It always makes me chuckle to hear someone make the argument that single payer health care will be too expensive. It will be 30%-40% cheaper than what we currently have, but it's going to be too expensive. smh

Funny how the Clinton crowd is parroting this too. I expect it from the brain dead right, but now it's in stereo.

How will it be funded?

Very few disagree with the idea but there was no meat in the (veto'd before even voted on) Bill.

I guess Trump wasn't as great for progressive policies as you idiots predicted, eh?

Do you think a President Clinton would have veto'd it?

By implementing higher taxes on the extremely wealthy and higher taxes on big corporations

Sanders introduced a similar bill in 2014 and received no cosponsors or support in congress. Virtually the same bill in 2017 now has 20 senate Democrats on board as cosponsors. So to answer your question, no, I don't think Clinton would have vetoed a medicare for all bill because she never would have allowed it to reach her desk. Just like Jerry Brown did in CA. There would be Dems in congress, just like there were under Obama, people you support, like Joe Manchin, who vote against it and it would never have reached the 60 vote threshold under a Clinton administration. The massive influx in popularity towards a medicare for all system like the one Sanders is proposing is directly attributable to how badly Trump and the GOP congress have totally bungled the ACA repeal. Americans across the political spectrum can see the contrast for themselves, in real time as the GOP try to kick millions off of healthcare and give huge tax breaks to their wealthy donors while Sanders and the Democrats are trying to ensure everyone is covered and it's affordable. The timing of releasing the plan couldn't have been better.

Weren't the recently defeated state bills put to voters and rejected...?

Also there's talk that Sander's Bill will be the reason Republicans finally vote to squash the ACA...

Totally progressive.

Those bills raised the taxes for many middle class families. They sought to fund them through regressive taxes. They were not progressive bills. Do you believe voters would oppose a system of state universal healthcare coverage funded by higher taxes on the wealthiest people and corporations in the state? An overwhelming majority of Democrats support it, a strong majority of Independents support it, and now, more Republicans support it than don't. They're trying to preemptively ban any attempts at enacting a state covered system of universal coverage because they know it would be popular.

Republicans have been screaming about repealing the ACA at the top of their lungs for 8 years, but, oh no, it'll finally be repealed because of Bernie Sanders...

How does that make sense in your head? Walk me through the steps

You just said the Gov of California shit canned them...but in reality it was the voters, wasn't it?

Your emo attempt at sticking it to the man is an utter failure because your rage clouds your objectivity.

And Republicans are using Sanders bill as a "Look what Socialist shit is the alternative!! They're coming for your wallet!!" to convince the last few Republicans to toe the line.

Jesus we're trying to keep people with healthcare coverage, Republicans are trying to destroy it and you think first off that some kind of ridiculous single payer system will help and secondly that it has a snowball's chance in hell of passing?

We need proper NATIONALIZED healthcare.
