is an a/c unit considered an intake?....it does bring in fresh air......?
Minimally, most are loop vents. For example, mine has a vent you can open for fresh air, or closed to recycle the air.

But if i had to choose, a little positive pressure is better then negative any day (unless breeding)

why is positive pressure better? Sometimes I feel like the negative pressure must helps the plants grow in some ways, what do I know haha.

50 days of 12/12, that is better than I thought, I guess you dont have to worry about it all the time. I know my rooms arent sealed but I meant ''sealed'' like no bugs can really get in or out(ladybugs...) and sealed enough that I dont need fan for air intake.

Only an ERV unit will bring in actual fresh air to an a/c system, or unless its some kind of window/wall unit.. in that case yes but a regular furnace/air handler type hvac system is just supplying and returning air from within the system getting the in-take air where the return('s) in the house is/are. If you had a room on one furnace and the only air going in and out (supply and return) of that furnace was a grow room in question, it would be a sealed room.... You'd only be cooling/heating the air from that room....

Great discussion guys! Thanks a lot. So my portable AC is now in bringing in outside cool air, and then venting back out the hot. I believe this makes it mostly a sealed room, yes?

But geek, why do you consider a slightly positive air pressure better then a slightly negative one?

Sorry guys, that i havent been able to be at the computer as much lately. Id like to say thought that i have a Beautiful young Ace x Vortex girl, sexed and back in veg for her initial mainlining trim.
:bigjoint:STOKED!

The portable ones that vent the exhaust out the back are pulling air (co2) from your room, you will go through a lot of co2 in this fashion. You need a "closed loop" air conditioner. These are typically mini-splits or larger in-wall units.

You can make your room somewhat sealed w/ a portable unit, but it is far from ideal for a true sealed room.

Why is positive pressure better?
Negative pressure is sucking in air/spores/dust/bugs from every crack in your room it can, positive is pushing the air from your room out from all cracks (so long as your intake is filtered) you will help prevent spores/dust/bugs from getting in.

You can have a blower door test done to see how much air is coming in your room and what's going out.. That will really tell you how tight your room is.. I know for sure that its much better to be in the positive than the negative.

reason I recommended this test is because I had this test done myself and now I know everything as far as the pressure,& air moving in and out of my room. Hope this helps.

My Mainlined Misty - Big and Dank as hell. Frosty and stinks crazy. Not fruity, more of a skunk hazy kind of weird smell.
She started sagging over cuz of her big thighs - needs the canopy ring - So i kind of bound the bottoms together with some bonsai wire.. Helped just a little, lol.
But, some of the nicest colas ive ever had. Eager to see the final weight on her. Thanks Nugs. Just a little bit longer...

My first CheeseQuake plant... Shes almost 4 weeks in. Smells of a faint heavenly grape funk at the moment. Stoked!

Here is a new star in my garden - HarleQueen. I actually took a plushberry plant out that i had in this space, as she was just getting too tall, too fast with no scrog love. So im getting her clone ready to do a mainline run. But first, we get to see this lovely medicine girl manifest her self. I shared some of this with a cancer patient/friend of mine, and we both felt like this HarleQueen cut has all the medicine of the Harlequin that is so very helpful, but with a little more air too her in the head. Clearer, and with more focus, but all the same medicinal CBD qualities. Shes a little shocked right now, as she just got through quarantine, and had her Azamax bath. But she is now starting to come out of it and im hoping she grows for the stars!

Then finally we have my CheeseQuake cuts, doing a Scrog / Mainline side by side... Started these clones same days everything the same but the bondage method. One thing that i have noted is that while with my scrog plant i kept her going straight up to my 10 or so inches before i make my 4 mains, i was able to start mainlining and get to 8 heads by that time.
Now with the mainlined girl just barely pruned for 16, both plants are looking to be finding there place in there pots...

Your work is always pro as fuck! I can't wait to see the side by side. My JB is still throwing bilateral nodes so i'm gonna give it a shot and see how she turns out. I'm also going to be starting some Vortex seeds.

Hell yeah, great day! Taking down Misty, already liking the mainlining trim. Got a jar full of Chernobyl and a bunch of Weed Nerds. Best way to trim ah?

Another shot of last weeks harvest. Was a great trim. Easiest by far that ive ever done, and that is due partialy to Misty's easy trim, but mostly i feel to do more with the lack of larf and popcorn from her mainlining. I know mainlining will take up a much bigger pie slice of my training ratio for now on. Will get a final weight up as soon as i have it, but i think she will take the title of biggest single plant in one of my 400w tents. Thanks Nugs
