I am in michigan now' moved there about 2 years ago' am considering leaving the area , the state laws are a mess ,
Well anyhow I have gophers as large as small cats on my property , in California a 100 gallon smart pot will yield on average of 4 lbs per 100 gallons ' the bloom phase starts around the first of august so whatever you have in the ground needs to be finished by the first frost , outside I would spray once a week with a mixture lf h2o2 to prevent bud rot and PM from ever getting a foot hold along seriously thining the plant to allow for airflow , the grows I am seeing are way to thick especially in wet humid climates , the thickness or amount of sticks you have on a plant does not equal more bud .
Light airflow and root mass equals more bud .
To much rain and being able to cover the plant would be a good idea ,the best way to grow in michigan would be in a light dep green house ' power is to expensive in Michigan abd going up.

yes they eat/kill the roots. Your best and biggest plants usually. If a plant just starts to wilt for no reason, dig around the roots and you will find the gopher holes. we put hardware wire cloth down to prevent this, or use pots
Castor bean plant or mole beans , plant some castor bean plants arlund ylur property abd put some lf the caster beans into their holes. Let then munch on them roots for a bit', they will get a permanent tummy ache. Keep domesric animals from messing with this beautiful plant , do not eat the beans yourself either , it is very deadly

Peroxide should only be used as a last resort and not as a preventative measure

It'll burn off PM alright, but also weakens the plant
H2O2 diluted 35 percent , 3 ml a gallon weakens the plant how ? People grow with it all the time even in the root zone , without it weakening the plant , i preffer benifical bacteria in the root zone so I never water with it, so i call BS on it weakening the plant , if you want to prevent .PM and bud rot use it , if you can live with either its your bud , not mine ,

How often you spray your plants with it?

Cheaper? Depends on what you mix in I guess. Probably cheaper, but mixing soil is some work. If your soil is alive, you don't need nutes. Well water and teas. A simple solution would be to till in some cow manure and maybe some peat moss bales on your plot, then use the ffof to fill your holes in. Maybe a little dolomite lime w the peat for pH balance. Go ahead and post any questions on here. I'm not curating a clean thread here, just trying to help and share.
Im building a corral similar to yours. One question. Do i need netting covering the top?
