thnx for input dude, yeah my 2 bigger in soil are 2 weeks older than dwc lol but much smaller and im using neuts in soil also lost 3 in soil...i agree with the high maintenance in dwc but soil is hard to grow for me but, def nice to start w/ a dwc then move more into soil when i can get it down

So NAS.. you never answered .. do you like SH more or DWC more?

Well, I didn't fully understand the question or you don't understand what you're asking.

SH, to me, stands for Stealth Hydroponics

DWC, to me, stands for Deep Water Culture

SH makes DWC systems... so, if you could elaborate that would be great.

Thanks- :peace:

Honestly, I'm just tired of having airstones break. I can't seem to get a bulletproof solution for the air system. I mean, some reservoirs I have are running 3 airstones and if one gets bumped or clogged it messes everything up.

Soil would just be easier for me at this point. I just started getting busy (JOB) so I am not going to have the time to devote. Who knows... I'm tired today, and it's getting to my head !

DWC RULES!!! :hump:

Late'...

Hmm... I believe the SH BP System is a DWC is just has the bubbles in it if I'm not mistaken.

So, I really can't answer that because all I've run is the SH BP system.

I hope this helps.

Hey there.

I see that the top 3/4 of the plant looks pretty good, and it's just the bottom quarter that's yellowing ?

If the new growth on top is green I wouldn't worry about it too much. I had a lot of leaves die below, but they sprouted.

i am new to inside growing but the ones i talk to that have been doing it a long time say 1 week. the reason is u dont know what nutes the plants are using more of so if u leave them in for 2 weeks there might not be enough of the nute they are eating more of left so if u change tub 1 week u will know that all nutes are at max leavels

Hey bro I believe what is happening in ur system is due to a lack of nutes.. (yellowing leaves)A plant that size in veg in my system would be running easily around 1200 PPM
Ur PH down fluctuations is perfectly normal.. Ur system is going thru its own cycle and attempting to achieve that perfect balance of everything happening in the res.. Beneficial bacteria.
Ph'ing it back up with is only counteracting what ur system is trying to achieve naturally. @ 6.4 PH Ur plants will be unable to use most nutrients anyway. U will end up with a lockout trust me.Most likely mag deficiency.
The reccomended PH for hydro is 5.8 sir. @ 5.8 ur plants are able to readily use more nutes.
Just remember if u keep ur PH at 5.8 steady.. Ur plants will let u know if ur underfeeding or overfeeding. Ur PH will rise if they are underfeed.
Ur PH will go low if ur feeding to much.

5.5 - 5.9 is the PH id reccomend running in this system.

Do that and u shall grow uncontrollable jungles man. Ive been thru it all.
Hope that helps.

All I gotta say, is that your words were right on the money. I agree with the southern man, I wish it were explained to me like that not too long ago.

May Peace & the Force be with you.

thnx man for ur advice i changed rez and put neuts too 1100 over night girls looked nice and perky reachn for light thery loved it and i also changed neuts to bc ferts....well next day girls was droopy again and ppm down to 850 is there a way to tell what nutes are being consumed so i cld add some or is that not good? i added some reg ph water and plants seemed to like it, they perked back up for a day and back too droopy next morning lol. is the perky and droopy leaf thing normal? i ask just because they where always lookn good untill i raised neuts 1st time then shit seemed to get all wacky but they do love they extra neuts so i know it cant be the prob if there even is one. also i read somewhere that its oky for the ph to go uo to 7 for a lil while cause thet is ideal ph for plant to absorb nitrogen true/false?

What is ur PH right now? How old r they? Got some pix? Its normal for leaves to droop and perk up during the day. Especially after topping off.. I dont think thats ur problem tho.. I think ur problem is that ur plants want more nutes.. Especially if they are eating like they are..Id administer my nutes back in the res at rates like that following the exact same doage u Did previously and bring the PPM back up..
I ran my current grow into 1900 PPM by week 4 VEG.
And havent let off since.
Some plants like abuse.. Some plants dont u are going to have to find out what ur strain likes..
But it sounds like maybe she wants to be abused.

ph is anywhere from 5.5 -7 after i come home from work and in the mornings its 7. girls are about 7 week into veg and i will be veg'n till they about 2.5-3 ft tall..3 week ago ph never moved and i moved neuts up from 500-850 and plants loved it but ph all over place...follown week i upped neuts again too 1100 and they still love it and ph still lil crazy..somethin just weird i get lots of new root growth in pots but then it slows down gets lil slimy and im using hygrozem and change res every week...also i have 2 diffrent plants in system mobydick's and chiesel's...cld it be that maybe 2 plants have neuts lock out? i have pretty recent pics on this thread but will get some more on tonight of everything. thnx man

I am about to get flamed I can feel it.... but I was walking through wally world and came upon a all organic liquid feed, the thing is it is a miracle grow product, though new and all organic liquid and only 8 bucks a half gallon. Is this suitable for DWC in any situation, I am going to find out. What do you guys think.

Don't use it in the DWC. That stuff is made for outside foliage to be sprayed on with a garden hose.

I have had the setup and have used it on my outside plants... not bad, not great. Nothing perks up an outdoor plant like a old res solution of Botanicare/GH tea...
