WTF? One of my ladies swings both ways...



Which, is a little disconcerting, cause, nobody should be showing sexy bits quite yet. One of the SS's. The only thing I can think of is putting them outside during the day has screwed with the cycle enough??? Do you think if I castrate him - any luck there? I am liking the Swiss Misses; they smell so good. I guess I could always try my hand at makin' seeds (on top of all my other learning curves).

Very nice quality photo, holds up well at full res. And wow, that was quick. I suppose with all the transexual/transgender articles in the news, he/she just couldn't wait to come out. For me, I've got more learning curves than I can handle already, I'd waste no time and compost it. But if you're up for the challenge, breeding is a whole other world...

Well, I dispatched him the other night. He's in the compost barrel. One of the two remaining SS's is showing pistils at one of the nodes.



Seems to be a very light sensitive plant. None of any of the others are showing any signs yet. I take that back: the remaining SS is has pistiled up. 2 out of 3 - I'll take it. I pinched 'em all too. I'm thinking of leaving the plants out overnight. They are not predicting any lows of concern. If I can get the girls to tip their hands before planting...
My camera is an older Olympus p & s: SP 310..

If you still have some of the pollen sacs or if it happens again and you can isolate the Bruce jenner, try to collect the pollen and selectively pollinate one of the lower branches of the same strain or make your own cross. You'll get some free femm'd seeds

I would love to start crossing and saving my own seed. But I'm staying small and giving up a quarter or half my allotment for the young men doesn't pencil out. Getting a few more years under my belt, having a neighbor move; I'll be more open to that line of study. And hey, if the misc. ball or male shows up at the end of the season: pollen on!

I just put my babies outside, about two weeks ahead of my original schedule.

I have two grow spaces indoors, both in the same room. Right now I have my indoor grow in a 2x4 tent, and in a half-closet (about 2x2.5') I have a veg space that had the babies in. Long story, but I found a spot of PM in the tent (lost a whole crop to that two grows ago), so now I have the dehumidifier blasting in the room. That's bringing the RH down way too low and simultaneously creating too much heat for happy babies. I think they'd do better outside than baking in this arid environment I'm creating.

They'll stay in their one gallon pots, hopefully until within a week of June 1st (my original target for putting them in their final pots), but they'll be under the sun and in the weather, which should work out fine. I also moved my struggling clones outside, I think they'll actually do better there too.

Plants show pre flowers at 4-6 weeks. It's normal. My plants in 24/0 show their preflowers too

How long are you leaving yours in the 1 gallon pots? I was planning on leaving mine there until June 1st and then putting them in their final pots, but everything is moving up this season. I think within a week or so mine will be too big for the 1 gallon pots.

I finished prepping the bed and filling the fabric pots this weekend. I haven't checked the roots - but they are growing like crazy. They have been outside since last week; coming up on two months old. The plans are to be transplanting after work tonight (this week) Other than the SS's showing, it's going to be my astute ability of observation deducing the females from the dudes The weather forecast is lookin' good too: warm and sunny all week - showers this weekend. Grow on!

looks like you live next to some land, do you get the ribbon snake hordes where your at.

We get snakes - I can't say we get hoards. I like snakes: I know Garter snakes eat slugs, I would assume Ribbons do too? You've earned your keep in my garden if you eat slugs!

The plants are all in, the final transplant was Monday night.



SS and bag (behind the chives) in the raised bed and DK and CBC in the pots.

I pulled the trigger and planted outdoor even though the daylight hours are not quite what they should be but my plants out grew their accommodations.....let the fun begin.

In the spirit of that statement, here's where mine are at...

The grey cloth pot with handles is a 10 gallon, the other two are 15 gallon cloth pots that are inside 20gal(?) plastic pots that are dropped into holes dug in the ground. The cloth pots stop the roots from reaching the soil, and I like how air pruning works. Being below ground helps keep the plants low and the roots cool, and the double pot system allows me to lift them out and move them at the end of the season if I need to.



These are various experimental DIY SIPs, the two wrapped in burlap are #7 pots, the others are 10 gallon cloth pots. All are in the ground up to their overflow holes. The ones I started from seeds have been transplanted, the ones from clones are not ready yet so the 1 gallon pots are just sitting in the larger pots for another week. I tend to get ahead of myself.

I was away this weekend. I was hoping for them to have grown a foot... but they hadn't. There is nice new growth though, so they have settled in from transplanting.

Not much to report; I did cover the pots in burlap...
