Yeah i would just flush the rez out and fill with pH'd water and let her chill for a lil bit

ok thanks. i just flushed the res & got some nice 5.55 fresh filtered water in it
i filled it up so that only about 1/4 of an inch of the rockwool is in the water

also the temp was around 88.. while i flushed the res i left the door a little open and it chilled down to 83
right now its at 84. i even turned off hood, so now there are only 4 6500s runnin.. but its still at 84.
i have an A/C in my room.. i turned it on and set it to 70 for now.. cuz i dont think the closet will be 70 since the sliding closet door is closed
and could i leave the closet door a little open? or all the way open?

Just make sure your light cycle isn't compromised. They should be in complete darkness during the night cycle.

oh yeah, the lights go off at 3 am and back on at 9 am. during that time, its pretty chill in there - so i dont need to leave the door open at night
ive left the closet door about half a foot open and its 82 in there now.. been about 10-15min

although, there is a small opening.. about 1/4 of an inch.. uploaded a pic. do you think later during flower, when lights are gonna be 12pm to 12am, it will affect it? 9am, the sun is blocked off by some trees, but around 10-12 i think light will be shining in. will that light be bad? the closet is about 10-15 ft away from the sliding door of my room where the light shines in



also i turned the hood light back, so 6 daylights workin right now. i opened the door about 2 or 2 1/2 feet and the AC is on 70. the temp reader near my baby is readin 79.5.
-5:30pm - 78.6

the ph went from 5.55 to 5.8 in an hour. 4:20 to 5:30.. damn thats pretty fast. i think the nutes were helping with slower increase.. but she looks a lot better in the normal water already.. its only been a few hours. i think the leaf that was curling, and very small, is starting to uncurl too!

She'll be fine, dont worry too much on the fluctuating pH as long as it dosnt go too high.
She dosnt need all that light right away, you could always turn off a bulb or two to lower the temp for right now.

ok ill keep checkin on the ph.. and ill keep checkin on the temps and turn lights off/on until a good temp
-but the res water is at 75.. how could i lower that?

i was reading the harvest every 2 weeks thread.. i had a question,
could i buy like 3/4 clones and instantly flower them? would that mean they would be ready to harvest in 2 weeks?
i know they would be really small.. but if i bought a couple and could just keep growing a few every 2 weeks.. that would be pretty dope..
how would the nutes go for that? the last 2 weeks on the foxfarm schedule?

what i was thinking is putting her in flower in a couple of days, or after the weekend and then learn some stuff from growing her,
and then going back and buying like 3-4 clones and putting them right into flowering
would that be a good idea? how much would the estimated yield be?

how could you tell if the clone is rooted enough to support flowering?
i checked the roots today.. they seem kinda orange. but she looks really healthy..
i thought the panda film was for sure light proof.. and i even taped under the pod to make sure no light could leak in at all..

Side note, during the veg period, interrupting the night period is not too detrimental. During flowering is when you should be seriously concerned with light leaks and exact light timing.

you have been asking a lot about Ph so i thought i would post you this, its right from my ph kit and i go by it.

you can see the three main nuets at the top NPK or nitrogen potassium and phosphorus and the ranges that optimum absorption rates occur I run 6.0 or as close to as i can it will fluctuate from 5.5 to 6.5
i would also like to point out on the chart a commonly missed nuet magnesium. at lower levels of ph your plant can get a deficiency of this nuet shows in purple coloring of the stems common to cloning. hard to determine in strains that genetics throw purple stems and leaves it will just be darker.

thanks for that link.. i think the purple stem is because of the strain.. atleast i hope so. but i received it from the club like that.. i think all the stems were purple on the other clones in the tray too. i cant wait to see her flower!

yeah ill do that.. im plannin on 14-16 inches.. the closet is like 5 ft tall so should be good!

new update- ill be upgrading to a 4 1/4 gallon container and be getting another clone in there on monday. i got the stuff tonight. yay 2 plants

and i made a new res last night.. gonna get another clone and try to grow 2! the club is gonna be open till 8 tonight.. so i might get the new clone tonight. and i have 2 lights off in the room, with the door open and its still hot, about 80. so i think if i get another clone, 6 daylight cfls should be good.

i had a question about the chaulk.. how long should i wait for it to completely dry? i used DAP kwik-seal for kitchen & bath. i finished the res last night around 6/7pm.
could use the res tonight around the same time? Will 24 hours be enough?

I would think 24 hours would be good, but you can always wait longer just to be sure

hey, thanks man. im not really sure.. i looked around at target and walmart, but i didnt really find anything good. and the medium im using is rockwool - it comes with the clones at the club.. it's like a 2 inch cube, i tear some off and push it into the pod. i have been interested in finding a 2 inch cube pod or something similar.. but im not sure where to find it sorry man

update.. got some dank fire og kush. it also has a nice purp stem too hahah
hopefully she wont droop down as much as the bk.. wonderin whats up with that..

todays update..
had a little "disaster" last night as i realized the shitty chaulk had become wet and soft and so easily removable. i think the chaulk was actually dissolving into the water.. no wonder my pH went SO high in such little time last night.. lmao. all my water leaked out too.. dunno where it went because the carpet wasn't as wet as it should have been.. atleast a gallon was gone. thank god i checked it one more time before i went to sleep last night.. so i ended up taking the res out and putting in the old one until right now.

i got a new res, a little bigger about 4 1/2 gallons. didn't make any holes in this one. just kept it real simple, fed the line threw the top, put the lid on, all good. the airpump line is a little tight/snug, but it's good enough because i can hear a lot of bubbles.

other than that.. not much. my new baby, fire og kush, was a little droopy last night, but that was because of that disolved chaulk i think - kept raising the pH. i got it at 5.5 - just water - in the new res right now. gonna make 5 more gallons of filtered water and mix in 1/4 nutes for next monday.

ive been having a little problem with the heat issue.. i thought cfls dont make too much heat.. guess i was wrong. i keep my both my window door and closet door open in the mornings, and its still at 82. it's probably cold winds outside today, but still the inside temp of the grow is around 82 or 81. i put the fan on the floor and tried to blow the heat up into the air.. but it didn't do anything at all. i just have my ac running for now.. but basically i have to keep the AC on for like 12 hours a day LOL. ive been thinking of some how making a hole in my closet door and putting a computer fan on it.. would that work? any ideas on how to make the hole? lol

heres day 11 update.. both lookin droopy tho.. weird

just wondering why they look so much better when they come from the club than once they are in my setup

also.. for the cfl heat issue.. right now i pulled the bucket a little more towards the door, now its more in the center of the closet - rather than stuck right against the wall. i put the fan all the way in the back corner so it would "push out" the hot air.. its not really that much better.. but meh. any ideas for controlling cfl heat?
