Thanks...If you only had 10" from the top of the soil to the 105w cfl would you have height issues? Or can the light be closer as the plant ages and grows?
the goal is to have the plant as close to the light as possible without heat affecting the growth or health of plant------yes----more light as they get bigger.

i just looked in on them and still nothing. the bag seeds i soaked in water last night (about 25 of them) more than half cracked already. i will plant them today
WOW-----your first set of seeds must have been bunk:wall:---no good----hopefully you will get some keeper out of the bagseed...

Thanks Doc. Heres another one for you...suppose you had a 6" circular fan on low, is it too much if the seedlings are slightly swaying in the breeze?

What's wrong with this one? It's fallen, and it can't get up!

I don't know if you can see in the picture, but the stem of this skunk is a weird "S" shape - it comes out of the ground, then bends over to the ground, and then rises again. The first bend is narrower than the rest of the stem.

Should I dig it up and replant it (or just add more mix) so all the bended portion of the stem is underground? I don't think it's going to make it...

it will slightley dry out---when the cup gets very light in weight you can use more sprays---seedlings need very little water and they will grow faster in a very lightly moistened soil---

The first bend is narrower than the rest of the stem. You can build a little soil around it but wet the soil in a different container first--then use the pre-moistened soil to gently built the soil around up to the bottom leaves.

Dr. ....I have seedlings in a 4.5" pot ....should I wait until the top 1/4" is bone dry before I spray? And do I spray just enough to make the top 1/4" wet again?

heres a question....if the seeedlings are almost 2" tall before the first set of leaves should you bring the light closer? Are they stretching? The post before me has the same size leaves but much shorter...

just give the top of the soil a light mist with the spray bottle if the top of the soil gets dry---you don't need to wet it.

things are looking good.

bring the light as close as possible without heat becoming a problem----temp should be 78 at soil line.

how close are your lights now and what lights are you using ?
mine are a couple of inches above the plant tops and I use standard 6500k---40 watt flors.

never mind, im just stoned and paranoid.....
me tooooooooooo:-o

Tomorrow we will build the soil around the base for support and growth---You will need to moisten the soil that will be put around the base in a separate container(we don't want to add more water to our plants but the added soil must be moist so that it doesn't draw the moisture out of our existing soil in cups---I will post a couple pics tomorrow...
