You more than welcome to join in and follow along----the feed rates are different for clones than seedlings thou----and since you are using clones you will probably be going into flowering very soon I would guess but you can still follow along and chime in any questions you have about your current grow -via- Pm's...

OK- We are now 7 days from dry seed-----In the first pic you can see that just the very top layer of soil is starting to dry up a bit---I have yet to spray one drop of water on the soil and the cups still "feel"---like they have a little moisture weight to them so I'm NOT going to spray the top soil at this time-----the second pic shows that the seedlings have grown over the tops of the cups and even with very little stretch the weight of the tops are starting to have an effect on the stem so now I am going to add more soil to the cups----Remember when I told you to only fill the cups a little over half way???---This is where it comes into play....1. I don't want to add more water to the plants so I am going to take a large cup of soil and add 6.3 low ppm water to the soil and mix--I have used a large cup with drain holes in it to let the excess water run out--We only want the soil to be moist---not wet. Once we have done this and stirred the soil to loosen it up we can take little pinches of soil and built it around the seedlings---make sure to leave at least 1/4" of room at the top for when we begin to feed and water---The pics show the now supported seedlings. Good air flow around plants now will show as a little leaf flutter---this will build the strength of the plant and stems as well maintain healthy growth.

Heres all my grow info for my second grow.
My grow space is 4.5'x3'x10', and I am growing 58 clones of Purple Kush (Hindu Kush x Purple Afghani origins). I am using two separate 1000w bulbs, one Metal Halide for vegetative growth and a High Pressure Sodium for flowering. I will be veging for about 2.5 weeks and flower for 8. The plants are in half-gallon pots with excellent soil, good mix of perlite worm castings etc. Im using a combination of organic nutrients and non-organic. The organic nutrients are Botanicare Pureblend vegging/flowering formula, plus a Sweet (sugres), and the non-organic are the Flora series hydro nutrients. I have a powerful outtake fan and a small oscillating fan, and also a small ceramic heater for the night time. During flowering i'm going to add a UVB light for 5 hours a day. The temp gets no higher than 84 during the day and no lower than 70 at night, with a steady pH at 6.2 during veg and 5.9 during flower. The clones were planted yesterday so i'm giving clean water for first couple days then a 1/4 solution for the rest of the week. Looking forward to the show!!

ps. i recommend Jorge Cervantes Marijuana Horticultre, the Grower's Bible to everyone!!! its a must-read if your serious about growing!

they are now 3 days old and have just been moved
under a grow bright 6000k 400w mh.
they are all in 16 oz cups and get water twice daily.
all seeds are bag seed this time

Yes----very nice but a couple of your plants look like your over-watering a little-----You're 7 days ahead of the rest so I will save the pics and compair in a week----The MH did keep the stretch to a minumum but your growth rate suffered a little---could have been to a little heat stress/over-watering a little------are you still watering them twice a day?-----other than that--keep up the good work...

How did you get them to stay so stout? Is it just you had your lights real close?
He is using a 400 MH light.

OK-
Now we are a week away from the first feeding so I want you to start thinking about what nutrient line you are going to use-----I recommend a well balanced grow formula---You may need to pick up a cal/mag supplement if your nutrient doesn't supply it. I also recommend a micro supplement in cheleted form as well---Over the next week I will answer all your questions on the nutrients and get ready for the first feeding that will be on the 20th. Also if you can get a TDS/PPM/EC meter and PH by then. If not we will try to help you with the correct amounts.........Lets see those pics !!!

Here's my pic. I started a few more seeds, so what I have here is 2 strawberry cough, 4 power skunk, 1 gigabud, and two diesel, one of which has sent out a tap root, but the top isn't growing upward at all. Also I topped the plant that will be my master kush mom, and cloned the cutting - not part of the class, but it will be tagging along if it roots.

I plan to save one diesel and one strawberry cough as moms, and grow out the rest. For nutes I will use organic guano/molasses teas, or maybe Bio Canna or BMO if I am too lazy to brew the tea.

I need some help with watering.....so far so good.....but it seems like the spray bottle method gives me dry soil in less than 24hrs. Is that ok? I have them in 4.5" pots. I am not drenching the soil, when I spray the water there is no runoff. I just spray the top layer of soil until it looks fully wet, and in about 24hrs its dry again. Is this correct?

what is the temp/humidity of your room----what is the light you are using?---what is the height above the plants? If you are using that 104 watt cfl that you talked about then you would need to have it at least 12" ABOVE the soil------my cups have yet to be watered or sprayed and the day I added more soil support-----DAY 7----- the top of the soil had just slightly started to dry----If your 4.5" needs water every day then you will have to give them more water---please post pics so that I can take a closer look at your plants.

I actually have my light about 4" above the plant right now. I have a fan flowing air through the leaves so heat is not an issue. I just read something that may help me. It said to give them a good watering until you get water coming out the bottom every other water. What do you think about that.

Also the reason Im writing is because I noticed one of the seedlings is showing a few little white spots which cant be rubbed off on the very tip of the first set of true leaves. I researched and it looks like spider mites. Most pics on the web show bad infestations where the whole leaf is taken over by white spots. I only have a few but it looks identical to the spots Ive seen online. Should I just ditch that plant asap and hope it hasnt already spread to the rest of the plants?

Sorry, camera sucks.....you cant really tell but they are white as paper......pics:

So you're doing you're own method then???---My method uses 40 watts or below at 1 to 2" above plant-----if your soil is drying out dailey you need to move the light higher-----cool----we can compare growth---let us know how the watering works out for you. If it was a spidermite you would have been able to rub it off.
